It’s similar in some way but also very different others than my time on THJ - you start with 2 classes then unlock a third at 10

I’m only level 3, do you get all your spells automatically like I did when I hit 2 or do you still need to buy? Where the hell
Can I buy Berzerker tools and tomes in Halas or do I just get that

Tomes for skills are not a thing at all, you just get all skills. Spells are mostly autogranted up to 20 but there are some that are not. The idea is you will have a functional if not ideal character if you don't have access to the spell vendors for a class yet. After 20 it is all vendor and a few quest spells. No research.

Superfun. Killed sneks and ratses, made a set of tattered, met fat friend in desert. Good fun.

I even had a lizard trooper save me from a mummy!

It's not worth playing a Froglock. They don't make any of their sounds from vanilla. They sound like a human.

Playing this in duo with a buddy, having great fun so far. We spent half the time figuring out the UI and getting lost in cities trying to find the right vendors, but it's super fun.

There were heavy rumors of Quarm server mining crypto in the background and that's why it ran like shit.

Not sure if this is a troll post? That tutorial area was in the OG game. It's a nostalgia throwback.. and likely a decent idea (even if its a 28yr dated experience), if they plan on pulling new to EQ players.
