The ones I really dislike are the AA potion (pure P2W) and the 3 loadouts with $5 more for each one, for those who haven't played loadouts are extremely annoying to swap between manually and 3 is very limiting in a game with 500 combos. Those are the ones I think it will be tough to work around.

Not only are they selling you Bags, they're selling you bank bags too. On top of that they clearly designed the bags sizes to go up with expansion.

There's absolutely nothing I need to buy from the store and can unlock the important stuff in game. I don't understand the freakout. Real EQ TLP Vets went "oh, that's cheaper than here!"

That said they need to give free funny money per month with sub, probably. Just to appease the people with no spending discipline.

Yes. I play games to have fun. I'm currently having fun, so I will continue to play until I am no longer having fun. Not sure why that's so difficult to understand or so controversial.

Are DBG/EQL being dicks? Absolutely. I personally don't like the idea of any cash shop. But capitalism marches on.

The day some bright mind figured out that people were willing to spend real money just to have a cutesy skin on their Candy Crush game, old school gaming died. Companies that used to build games for the simple love of gaming/gamers went out of business and were replaced by accountants and venture capital suits. The reality right now is that they aren't games anymore, they're revenue streams. The only thing that matters now is how much money those companies can squeeze out of their IPs before the masses get bored and move on to the next diversion. You can either,
1. Find a game you enjoy and ignore the cash grab (as much as possible), or
2. Give up on gaming entirely.

I always said they would probably have unlocks and bags. That said, them only having 12 slot 100% WR when dragon bags are 10 slot 100% WR was a bit of a WTF. I will probably buy a couple of the bank bags though. I will wait and see what is available via cheevos for hoard and other storage. Just like race and class unlocks, the stuff you get by playing the game is usually more than good enough.

The AA pots only being for 5 AAs was kind of hilarious. Worthless.

Still having a blast playing with friends from classic.

In THJ the AA grind was the real grind. Leveling up was trivial. I could do a character from 1-max in a weekend casual. I have not played this server so maybe the exp curve is different, but its always the AA grind thats the shit grind and they just made it easier with cash.

The bags are whatever, Daybreak always had those for purchase, even in THJ thery had them for RL moneys.

The 50 slot bag is 0% WR, so bank only. If they go with EQ progression they will sell bigger 100% WR bags down the line, so I will check back then.

Definitely having fun so far. So far, other than bags, this is all just shortcuts and QOL. Let people do their thang.

They lock you out of making more than 1 character and then sell you additional slots for combo's...

That's not QoL. That's fucking greed.

Cash shop seems okay, the AAX potion is a bit sketchy but 5 AAX are like 30 mins of farming (so far) not that much of a benefit for that price. Bags and race/class/deity tokens are fair, too.

5 months of classic is also okay. If you want to level several classes to 50, farm gear, unlock races (ogre is a bitch), level tradeskills and not poopsock nolife it, this is fine.

They already said you will be able to get loadouts via cheevos. So yeah, it's just QOL stuff. Shortcuts for the folks who want shortcuts.
