Changing your deity or race so you can play as a different class after you have already done 20+ levels was a "core feature" in EQ? Weird, I really don't remember that.

I don't remember Classic EQ allowing you to pick 3 Classes. It's almost like they can make changes. And yes being able to change classes is a core feature to this type of game.

But I might have missed it since deity choice was so inconsequential to my play experience that I never thought about it a single time after character creation.
But...isn't that basically a core feature of this? If shit is locked behind a paywall for you to play certain class/race/diety combinations, it limits what you can actually do. Where the only way you can is to pay money? Granted I'm just reading this thread, so no clue if that's the case.

It's not at all. And the peanut gallery that aren't playing it at all really have no clue what they are getting mad about. The only pay wall is the box price and monthly sub. That's it. I spent $7.50 for a big ass 80% WR reduction bag, nothing else, and I have full access to 100% of the content.

Lil bro i know the whole multiclass thing is new to you. But It's not a new concept. Changing Class is very core to the game design. Nobody ever plays these types of mods and doesn't class change.

It probably depends on what vantage point you are looking at it from. On one end, you have normal EQ where you basically have absolutely no wiggle room after you leave the character select screen and then on the opposite end of the spectrum, THJ where you could pretty much do whatever and whenever. EQL is in the middle of both of those things with a overly convoluted system that tries to thread the needle.

Your exact hypothetical doesn't really exist, unless you change your mind after locking things in at 11 and want to change one of your core elements. At that point, you can either quest to unlock other options, hit max level, or pull out your credit card. You're basing your take on people who have never even played this game.

By not being kos. Kerrans are agnostic, so if you are agnostic or good I can't see them being too hard to work with. At higher levels enc also get alliance and such to temp raise your rep with a target's faction.

The wiki says some races have -1000, and some deities have another -1000.

That's where I'm curious. So essentially is there a method to do any race/class combo at some point through unlocking it in game? From what people were talking about earlier, it didn't sound like you could (once you lock in things like primary race or diety, you're stuck?).

The only unlocks that are not currently available through in-game quests or achievements are deity changes. They are coming, but no eta. Everything else is unlockable in-game.

These guys won't be honest they're all carrying water.

The game has in game achievements that range from pointless tedious like do the Red Wine Quest in Neriak a bunch to Unlock DE or absurd waste of time example do every Plane of Sky Quest to unlock that Class.

They also pinky promised create achievements for the other stuff months ago, but haven't added a single one other then at 50 you get 1/14th of the storage they took away after the bait and switch. But currently no big bags drop in game and for the other QOL stuff the pay pigs get 5x the loadouts and storage.

If you think this is a shitty business practice you're obviously poor.

Actually the sky quests aren’t bad at all.

I unlocked bard and ranger today just from doing turn ins as I was clearing for weapon upgrades.

it also helps when you charm a murder bee who hits for 350’s doing the lords work.

From the EQL wiki

"Note: You can do the turn ins while sneaked, the trick is not hailing. What I did was pre farmed the turn in for the necklace, you kill the tiger spathi for the letter and amir on the island to the south. Took like 5 turn ins to go to dubious for a rallos ogre. It's 100 faction per turn in. Sneak / invis to the sharr, in the basement of the northernmost building, make sure your sneaks working before going down. It's a good idea to kill the patrol tiger in the hall while it is outside the room. Nestle yourself behind the bench beside the shar to break los with the guard in the corner, then break invis but stay sneak and say "explorrre the island" without hailing, turn in the desecrated totem, then turn in the letter, and repeat till factions up."
