I suppose for someone on their first run up to 50 bonus xp is nice but you quickly reach a point where motes are the only progression. While technically motes and xp are completely separate systems it's no secret that leveling on D4 red named is one of the highest mote yields vs difficulty currently. If there was a way to level lock mid teens and farm the bottom of befallen indefinitely I'm sure many would do that. An xp bonus means less time in those sweet spot ranges.

Sell an xp disabler in the store for 500-1k and I'd bet they'd make money.

A 100% drop bonus to the greater motes would be better then EXP. But then the game would be over .

Everybody knows about Befallan for motes but I was actually getting more motes from gukbottom with my Paladin leveling up classes in my 30s. Admittedly I had full AAs and a +10 Sky weapon. Paladin + ranked up cleric undead nukes was a shooting gallery.

That is pretty normal if not a little lower than average for an hour of D4 farm anywhere with good named concentration based on the last 10 chars I took to L50. Usually netting somewhere between 40-60 in a mix of +5/+6/+7 motes an hour.

All are worse than just jumping into the planes or sky w/ bard DDD so if you're serious about mote farming just make a bard comp and call it a day (brd/clr/shm is solid or brd/wiz/enc if you want more safety or are undergeared). Sky is especially good with the ability to get all the way to +10 motes.

Bonus loot drops would have been a much better option over XP imo as it still leaves the mote grind. I've only 5 chars left at L25 to take to L50 until I ditch for Kunark so I guess thanks to them for letting me drop out and variety game sooner.

So this is what you need to resort to in order to get motes. Bad design

there needs to be more of a reason to level classes... like being able to pick a beneficial spell as a ritual or something

guess i gimped myself getting +10 weapons on monk since now i have to be monk in every trio i make... doesnt sound fun saving all this gear and figuring out all the random shit i have that may fit a random trio i might make... just not fun saving all this fuken gear too, not trying to play organizationquest

Yeah, hard to give up +10 weapons but part of this game to me is solving the gear puzzle. Things like CT gloves instantly rise to bis even if it's not for every class specifically because every class can use it. Same with the kerran neck. They may not be bis for every class or situation but all/all makes them worth the motes imo.

Except those weapons are 100% unnecessary. You can do it all with +2. Just play a different class to experience it.

Your weapon damage is capped until 30 as well. Different breakpoints, but you won't hit for max damage until then so shit like giga 2handers aren't as big a deal as you think. Stuff like a lvl 10 Vamp Embrace is really nice, but it also scales so a VE X at 15 vs 50 is a major difference, though still nice.

The first thing I did after my main trio was done was make every single melee comp possible at L50 and d4 raids. The worst thing I did was level any weapons to +10. It is a waste outside of 2handers on war/zrk builds cause they are stacked at +10. Endurance issues and even the most jacked melee comp I made (war/rng/mnk) with capped str, 700+ atk, strikethrough blah blah could barely sustain 300-400 melee dps on d4 raid bosses and that is after spamming mallets to slow to stay in off stance and praying for spellblade heals (surprisingly OK tbh). But all that jacked gear is less dps than a dot line or a charm pet. Casters rule unfortunately. Just finished SK/Wiz/Enc and that shit is fantastic at my gear/AA level. Wiz nukes for like 5k. Solid D4 clear speed in the 600-800 dps range and endless utility.

Tldr: i would probably leave all 1handers at +5 and only level 2 handers to +10 in certain comps.

True except for it doesn’t seem like bow damage is capped. Ranger at lower levels slaps, but still suffers from the chronic missing that all melee have to deal with

I used to 24box on Rizlona - it's a lot of fun and significantly less effort than people think. After 12 toons anything else adds very little work, even after 6 it's not much of a step up in terms of difficulty.
