I didn't mind the NCR though I wish the Roman faction was a bit more fleshed out. My first playthrough I allied with them and it was a vastly inferior experience compared to NCR.

heh, yeah there's been a few of his posts that I've seen recently that he's missed. I was re-reading some old threads and saw his name and was like, "oh snap he's back!" oh... wait no he just missed one.

Fallout is only fun in hellholes. NV had bountiful resources and I think the game was worse for it.
That was kinda the point with Mr.House protecting the region. Honest hearts well... The Survialist nuff said.

Both great games and I look forward to the next(and visiting all the IRL locations as I have done with fo1-nv)

I will be attending the conference since SOE live was cancelled if anyone is going we can hit the jet hard. Got myrons recipe ready to cook.

Yeah and I always allied with Mr. House in my playthroughs.

There's just something special about being down to 40 bullets, 2 stim packs, 3 water and being irradiated and knowing that a given raider outpost has more supply but you're not sure if you have enough supply to kill. Or that the expense of supply will even put you in a better state. FO3 does this, and while NV has better writing and quests it dumps supply on you at every turn. I always played fallout3/nv with mods that make it difficult, but the canvas that is NV was polluted by excess.

I didn't have supply problems in any of the Fallout games past the first like hour. I also hate "survival" style gaming so maybe I'm just good at finding that excess :p

Like Tuco I enjoy the survival elements (Fallout 1-2 are still my favorites), and liked the original Resident Evil games due to it too. However, my hoarder OCD stuff tend to circumvent the survival bits. I gather everything, and rarely use anything I don't have to with a "maybe I willreallyneed it later, which I never do. Don't think I've ever used a mega-potion in the Final Fantasy games.

I like survival elements, and limited resources, but I do hate time restraints. Probably due to me wanting to have time to find the excess as you mentioned. Having to get the water supply in Fallout 1 stressed me out far more than limited resources.

But I have no doubt I will enjoy Fallout 4 no matter if it is easier with the resource management or not. Honestly would rather have the writing back to Fallout 1-2 standards compared to the resource management. Might just be that I was younger when playing them, but I recall Fallout 1-2 having a far more gritty and dark humor to them than the recent games. Wasteland 2 being the first game that looked and read like a real Fallout 3.

Have to play with the mods that strip out a lot of the random looted ammo/water/food/stim packs/radx/radaway, and also add in hunger/water/sleep requirements along with radiation everywhere. It's not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with just jumping into the game and smashing fools without having to worry about starving to death or scrummaging up enough ammunition to win your next fight. It just provides a unique experience when instead of accumulating a wealth of supplies after the first hour you instead have to survive indefinitely.

I think part of FO1/2 feeling more gritty and dark was that it was a 2d turn based game with heavy constraints on the player. In FO3/NV the player is so free to do everything that the game can get silly at times.

After playing abit of Dragon Age, I could care less about the huge worlds you have to play were you are pretty much the only one that is not a NPC.

I'm hoping Fall Out can have some co op play going for it

lol uh no thanks man that defeats the purpose.

Try Farcry 4 out though the coop is awesome and helps move along the side quests to better main mission.

Coop is one of the major things Bethesda could do to make FO4 a hyped up title on its own merit instead of just the next Bethesda game.

Fallout is supposed to be lonely. I really don't want FaceFuxx0r32 rocket spamming me. I just want to walk around, solving problems, killing Mohawk haired raiders and giant scorpions.

Yeah I'm fine leaving the coop FPS experience to Borderlands. Don't really want it in FO.

Maybe with the resurgence in old school iso RPGs (D:OS, Wasteland2, Shadowrun) maybe they'll make the new Fallout a tactical RPG again instead of FP.

Yea, my experience in Fallout wouldn't benefit from sharing it alongside many people.
So play it like Boderlands then in single player. The world shouldn't have to be shut out because a very small percentage are anti social.

Both xbox and Ps now have fairly good ways for you to communicate with your friends across games, no reason these HUGE open world games are not to able to support co op in 2015.

You can still play in your lonely world with no friends. It's not an either or..
