I’d rather these shitfaggots just let me binge the fucking season. What’s the point of streaming if we’re gonna stop follow their gay ass American Inventor Jew formats?

especially when it's on Prime. at least with every other service i can kinda understand wanting that resub retention.

The real benefit is it remains in the public consciousness much longer.

It’s like time gating in a MMO: sure having everything all available is great in the moment, but then you poopsock it and complain you’re bored because you’ve exhausted all the content

The “dump it all” streaming thing basically guarantees a show burns bright and then completely peters out after a couple weeks. Everything gets spoiled, turning off potential viewers. And people who did binge are now bored because they used up all the content in a weekend

Honestly the spoiler thing is big. Social media has people spoiling shit before episodes even leak. If a series drops all at once, even though I like to binge it all at once, it's inevitable some dipshit on social media is like "I CANT BELIEVE THE GHOUL KILLED LUCY" within the first 24 hours it drops. And it's not like I'm searching that shit, even doom scrolling through you see some little thing regarding a show then read it and it's all fucked.

This is true. You have to basically stay off of twitter the day episodes air.

It has gotten worse these past few years as well - in the past the spoiler clips at least tried to keep things vague/misleading with the thumbnail, now they have a full on screengrab of the most spoilerific part with a headline that also spoils.

Like people mentioned, I just stay off social media/youtube if I care about watching a show or playing through a game where i enjoy the story

I was not able to see the 1st of the newest Star Wars until the 2nd week. Google fucking news ruined that Solo died in a headline. Minor as the movie and the 2 that followed were poor shit dribbled garbage but you would think it was safe to look at the news. Not the entertainment section mind you, the 'news for you' part.

Yeah having an android phone and using Chrome I've had shit pop up in suggested news like that as well. Very annoying, same goes for YT thumbnails and video suggestions.

That wasn't particularly exciting.

And not only going with Novac, but playing Big Iron right off the bat? Boy, Bethesda / this show is going to mine someone else's work to the bedrock this season, aren't they.

I am somewhat surprised they admitted the Reds are actually Chinese (nationality was never actually specified in Season 1). Or are we to believe the entire war is a false flag now?

Had the feel when Goggins is on camera-- he brings you right back to his character, it holds your attention every moment on what he might do or say.

Stuff outside of that was pretty weak. Mediocre first ep.

Can't believe they rushed Novac and no Boone. That was one of the better storylines in the game and definitely the best companion. I was really disappointed to see the girl in his sniper perch.

Since the internet seems to be confused: House was not recast.

Justin Theroux, the guy at the bar, is the real Robert House.
Rafi Silver, the guy in the pre-war meeting Cooper spied on last season, and who was on the TV at the bar this season, is a fake House. He's likely Robert House's brother, mentioned in this episode, who owns HH Tool.

In addition to extending the Howard Hughes / Robert House simile (Hughes also used a body double), this will likely set up the show's next "Actually, whatever you chose didn't matter" retcon of the games: it was always fake House in the pod, that you may or may not kill in your playthrough. Fake House always dies, regardless of your choices, in the show timeline (either by your hand or in whatever ruins New Vegas between the game and the show). Whether real House spent centuries in Cryo, got uploaded to a Securitron, or is also a vegetable in a pod somewhere else remains to be seen.

This also allows the show to continue its (as usual, anti-capitalist in a show made by the largest corporation on Earth) completely psychotic version of House, who is willing to keep his own brother alive as a vegetable for centuries just to serve as a decoy.
