Not sure if there was a thread up for this yet? Played like an hour or so of the free demo last night, definitely has that old school FF feel. Looks great for HD-2D, sometimes it feels like they're trying to go a little too cinematic in combat with the limit breaks and big vision/esper attacks...but overall the systems feel very familiar. I'd bet it would play very well to the turn based only crowd who cries quite a bit over XV/XVI/Remake series combat. Lot of elemental weakness/resistance focus, and I guess it's somewhat of a port of Brave Exvius(?), although the combat and world I guess has been built from the ground up, just adapting the story from that old mobile game.

I’m enjoying the demo. What’s the point of the minimap color warning for imminent combat? Is there a way to increase the timer or something? Does walking vs running change the frequency of the flashing red? Feels like I’m getting pulled into combat every 15 seconds or so no matter what.

Not sure if anything affects it, I guess just to let the player know when they're in areas where random encounters will occur v not? Or hey a fight is coming soon if you can hit a town do it in the next step or two?

I liked the demo. I saw people saying be wary of it cause it’s based on a mobile game but it didn’t feel mobile to me at all, just felt like a new octopath traveler in final fantasy land.

So where is this available? If it's a free demo, I'm down to give it a shot.'
Scratch that, I found the demo in the playstation store. For some reason, I read the title of this thread as Final Fantasy Resources, so looking for that showed me nothing at all except looking for shit in FF14.
Oh well, it's all resolved now.

It's adapting the main story of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Gameplay seems like pretty standard FF style rpg replacing the tap timing of the mobile game. Visions are now sort of an equipment slot instead of being full on party members like they were in the mobile game. I.E. once you've unlocked the Warrior of Light vision you can equip him to a party member to start learning special passives from him.

I honestly sort of expected you'd still have to pull on gachas to build a party and you just earn gacha currency through normal in game play. Turning it into a traditional rpg is probably a much better idea.

I really enjoyed the demo, maxed out all available heroes and visions. Definitely a day 1 buy for me.

Got the demo…

The prelude 345653456467 years ago is a little on the nose, but also disjointed - hey here is the legend of the crystals of this world… now your this badass chick…oh..like this is a prologue a long time ago..oh this is..how the crystals were made and they did…something something…

Seemed like they really wanted FF4 and FF6 to shine through … the music is hitting hard on the nostalgia.

The visuals are… insane… the blending of transition of art styles is quite a thing. To use pixel “resolution” as a variable focus degree is… something lol square showing they are indeed masters of the artistic element once again- but can the story, characters and emotion hold true with “LOOK AT THE NUMBERS” and “boom BOOM take up your screen!” Visuals

Music is just like bro, get your classic on. Member berries all up in your ears.

The artwork of the game cover, does not match the character’s personality / constitution we are presented with in the prologue section…

Hope to get more time with it tomorrow, only got thru the prologue and intro to “now” and hit the first save and had to go.

So… this is just a put-in-order to “the big screen” of a mobile game?

From what I’ve read it’s a significant change from the mobile. If I wasn’t told it was previously a mobile game I never would have guessed it, it doesn’t play like one at all.

From what I heard, they built the combat from the ground up, same with most of the world I believe. Granted, I never played the mobile game at all, so going in totally blind.

The gameplay is very traditional turn based rpg. It's nothing like the mobile game which revolved around correctly timing the activation of your characters.
