I should by all rights hate this game. From the slow combat to the cliche quests to the cumbersome UI. However, for whatever reason it is legitimately the most fun I have had in an MMO in years. I was talking to my father-in-law about it (he plays as well) and both of us get a very EQ vibe from the game. The only thing I can think of is the fact that not a lot of information is out there, and no one is really data mining anything. That lack of information is creating some excellent immersion and some "Oh shit" moments when exploring (no real danger, but definitely some "Okay, I just found some level 40 mobs in the same area as level 20 quests...better not explore anymore.")
The game runs amazing. I was fortunate enough to be one of the people that never had any issues. Managed to get Archer and Conjurer to 20 and a couple other classes to 15. I was a little apprehensive about having to rely on fates/leves/xp chains for leveling other classes as I hate grinding, but it really was not bad at all. One thing that shocked me was how much I actually liked the crafting professions. I normally avoid tradeskilling like the plague, it's never been fun to me and if WoW didn't force you to pick up professions for min/max bonuses I never would have bothered. However, I spent a good 4 hours yesterday doing nothing but tradeskills.
I can't wait for release.
