Supposedly the screenwriter directly confirms it during an interview in the extras on the director's cut. Also there is one scene in the director's cut that is so unambiguous about it that you really can't even call him a "secret" angel.Lul, is that really cannon to the movie?
ET/supernatural shit in my history shows is not usually something I would be interested in. Although, since I don't really remember the part, if it was woven through most of the runtime, it might make a rewatch interesting to see how it's acted, if he is supposed to be a secret angel...
I stopped watching Vikings, in part, due to supernatural bullshit in the first season (when I finally decided to give it a chance, many years after it aired), but that whole show was tainted by my hatred for what the C-suits turned the "History" channel into. In particular, fuck those Pickers faggots that should have been on HGTV or some other women's channel.
It's a 20 year old movie so I'm not gonna bother with more spoiler tags, I just did the initial one for suspense.
