MiG21's may be old, but they were excellent aircraft. Plus, what exactly are you going to get in the civilian market that can outperform it for even close to the cost? You can get A4 Skyhawk's (woohoo, Jester's dead!) but a MiG21 will leave a Skyhawk for dead: it's supersonic and a Skyhawk isn't. If you warned ATC and went out over the ocean I bet even you could go break the sound barrier. Maybe even without getting Air Guard F15s scrambled at you!
F4 Phantoms will come close to the MiG performance wise, but the operating costs are waaay more and the purchase price from what I can see is at least 3 times more. If you want to outclass the MiG in performance you're looking at F16 or F15 level performance, and good luck getting ahold of one of those as a civilian.
In short, you're just pussing out and blaming your lack of courage on MiG 21's being inferior when they aren't inferior to anything available for civilian purchase. Ukraine needs your help, and you're too pussy to help even though you could?
