Pretty much need changeable weather for races to bring surprises now, great tactics for Hulkenberg and Stroll. Once it dried out everybody started sliding back to their expected positions.

Rumors about Mercedes trying to sign Verstappen for next year increasing again today. He's under contract until the end of 2028 but might well have an opt out and in any case, bags of cash make all sorts of moves possible in F1.

He's meeting with Toto today.

Red Bull have lost a massive number of the best people in F1 in a very short span of time. Not only the big names, but also a lot of other people who worked with them. I predict this team will be lucky to be a midfield team for quite some time after this.

Reminds me of when Luca di Montezemolo threw away F1's most successful team and driver because he wanted it to be an all Italian show.

I'm surprised it's only Mercedes going after him. Maybe the others don't want to pony up the big bucks for him. I keep hoping he'll do Lemans and go to WEC. He does a lot of simming in the Hypercars.

Yeah he seems to have mentally checked out already, he was surprisingly calm after getting taken out in Austria. Wouldn't surprise me to see him follow Adrian Newey to Aston Martin. Stroll's dad is throwing all the money in the world at that team and Newey's track record is unparalleled.

Max Verstappen's net worth is over 200 mil so he's long reached the point where he can take a pay cut if he has to.

At least we're getting some interesting duels between the McClarens, compared to Max just dominating all the races last season and there barely being any action in the top couple places in many races it seemed like (at least as a newer fan).

I'd really like to go to the Vegas race this year, actually applied to be a local race marshal but the program is full and am on the wait list, may still go to the informational sessions / training if I'm able.

If you haven't been to Austin, I'd highly recommend that race too. From most spots around the track you can see multiple corners whether in grandstand or GA seating. Plus its insanely more affordable. Of the 4 tracks I've been to its still a highlight.

Ferrari blunders it again
Hamilton saying he should be replaced, then blubbering on tv. I knew he'd be ass, but he's already thrown in the towel.

Red Bull going backwards at light speed. They went from having the most dominant driver in history 2 years ago to a midfield team at the drop of a hat. I don't think I've ever seen such a catastrophic change in form.

People are just sitting this season out until the new cars come in next year and the dynamic changes again. Likely some teams will dominate at first and others catch up a year or so later.
