You can link your Apple account on F1 TV and get access to all the stuff F1 TV has to offer when you sub to Apple TV. You can watch either the F1 TV broadcast or Sky TV's. You can sub to Apple TV for $99/year if you want too. That's a pretty good deal, imho.

Qualis were surprising last night, but the biggest surprise to me wasn't Max crashing in Q1, it was a toss up between both RB being in the top 10 and Hadjar being P3.

I don't think any of them will challenge for anything, but its certinly going to make the constructors' championship more interesting if this keeps up. Also, props to Kimi. That dude had issue after issue and he still managed to finish strong.

I still don't get the battery recharge situation. Seems like they deplete way faster then years before. Like massive slow down when depleted. It just seems kinda weird.

If I remember correctly, its just meant as a tool for passing, which is part of why it depletes so fast. It's meant to be used from the slipstream to overtake, but it's being used by drivers like the DRS system was, which is something they need to adjust to.

But I'm just some armchair F1 fan, they know more than I, clearly, so maybe its just a shit system. lol.

It just creates that unusual thing where the car starts to come off the throttle when it is still in a 100% throttle part of the track, which I heard them say that it's recharging.

The commentators I was listening to were getting caught out by it more than once. It does seem counter-intuitive

Complete clanger of a rule set. FIA might not be able to fix this.

AM made a car that is fundamentally broken. Just wow. Will miss most of first three races. Honda has ZERO spare parts.

Ferrari dropped another dud. Ham doing his GOAT stuff at the ass end of the grid. Again. LOL.

Grats MB on WCC and WDC. Everyone else might as well stay home.

The cars are given a certain amount of "electrical energy" they can use in total each lap. The ICE does not provide enough power on its own to hit top speed in 8th gear. In order to use their "energy" allotment each lap, they have to "clip", or downshift while full throttle to recharge the battery multiple times a lap in order to actually recharge the battery in order to spend it up to their energy cap. They have a deployment mode called "Straightline Speed" or "Boost", when you see the two green leds on the top left of the wheel on, they're in this mode. This lets them use full power, but it runs out and that's why you see leds on some dashes to the right of these 2 slowly go out while they're accelerating, then they downshift to 7th to recharge before a lift and coast into a braking zone.

Yelistener had a video yesterday covering this, but I guess he got a copyright take down request and it's gone.
This one just covers a quali lap, but you can kind of see what's happening.

There's also a separate override button, weeeeee.

This sounds miserable to drive, having to be told when to lift and when to recharge the battery, constantly changing each lap.
