It gets worse the more you think about it.
You don't make the tree your maybe exit contingent on being able to pull it out after committing. You make the tree your entrance. As soon as the sun is up and the ghouls are inert you pull the tree up, repel down, dig dig dig and get pulled back out. If you can't make an entrance with the tree you can try digging down through the earth to the chamber and if that also fails then and only then do you need to entertain using the tunnels to get in.

Why? Who the fuck knows! The van is empty of cans, and he could literally just go grab a fucking can opener from across the street. I felt like it was just a sloppy attempt at a MacGuffin into that kid's hand, and an excuse to show off Victor's creepy dolls.

fuck, i forgot this show is 10 episode seasons not 8. binged through season 4 starting last week hoping to catch the finale last night and womp womp there are 2 episodes left.
its really a show where you could just watch the last episode or two of a season and miss literally nothing. i fast forward every time two characters talk to each other, they usually have nothing but bullshit to say and repeat it later anyways in a bigger group.
literally nothing has happened all season except the man in yellow is fucking around like he is in disneyland lol. The rules of this place are insanely unfair, this dude just gets to do whatever the fuck he wants with zero consequences or limits placed on him, and he is manipulating everyone with magic powers
oh well, the show is stupid 90% of the time but the 10% of the time cool shit goes down its fun to watch. too bad its just 5-10%. 2 more episodes to go, 5th season (next one) is the final season iirc and will even have a bigger 13 episode run.

Isn't there just one more episode this season? I can finally watch it. Also need to go watch Widow's Bay now that it's over, and I think I'm probably more excited for it, although this show is definitely a guilty pleasure.

widows bay has more a comedy tint to it, i'm 2 in so far but I like From more. Its just weirder and kookier and stupider, but maybe i'll change my mind as I watch more of Widows Bay, especially if the From season finale is underwhelming.

Widows Bay did more in one season than this has done in four. That show is a fucking masterclass on how to write compelling horror. This is not.

I've been keeping up with the widows Bay thread, and I'm honestly super excited to watch it. On that now I did start watching this show after the first season and at this point I'm invested unfortunately, and it has its moments but I'll also been very thankful for everybody reviewing the season and at least prepping me for disappointment.

From is still enjoyable. I like most of the characters. It's just every season opens with a major event then filler, filler, filler, ..., cliffhanger.
