I'll never understand why people flip out over fursuits, really. Think of it like a mascot, worn 99% of the time at conventions, 1% of the time at other gettogethers. It's no different than cosplay, or a star wars type convention. Very, very few furries ever run around in their fursuits in public for no reason whatsoever, if ever. Hell, I sure wouldn't.

The main difference is that a fursuit reflects a character that you designed, and made yourself that is relatable to you, where as a cosplay/other convention type suit reflects a character that someone else designed, relatable to them that you want to play the role as.

There are lots of awesome fursuits out there. Some of them are shitty. But they are nearly all self-designed and lots of painstaking work goes into them, not to mention really good ones cost nearly $10,000.
