No, that was the landlords answer for 2750/month rent.
The funny thing is that the bank doesn't say this. Government regulations do. Fannie and Freddie are extremely strict on income and debt to income ratios. So the bank is being told "Sorry we're not gonna back that loan" and thus the bank won't touch it.
It goes back to the whole situation where if a guy has 50 million in assets and zero income (For example lets say he has $100,000 in the bank to live on and 50 million in assets he isn't selling at all, and does not work or have any other income sources), he's not going to be approved for a $100,000 conventional mortgage, no matter his credit.
