Zelda. That game. I didn’t really like video games before that. My grandmother always played 2600 but it was just never got me except maybe pitfall and adventure. But when she got her nes. Then got zelda. Oh yeah. Final Fantasy would be number 2. Then Metroid. Tetris is up there too. She and I would play that for hours.

I still remember he calling SMB3 Bowser a shitass at like 2am in our basement. She’s about to hit 83. Can barely see. Plays some version of Hexic a lot still since she can see it. Rest is too fast and hard to see. She visited and watched some WoW back in the day. Amazed her how far it had come. She was still playing NES and SNES though.

Saw this on reddit and thought it was pretty interesting topic. What is the most iconic cover for you?

Ultima 3 was my first real CPRG. There was Adventure but this was a real open world RPG. The first two Ultimas were RPGs, but had things like time travel, etc. This is sailing and moon portals and every thing else. Lord British blew my mind about what the possibilities were for a computer virtual world could be.

All of the Activision covers were great for Atari, this is the first one I remember getting:

All of the activision covers were so colorful, my favorite of which was this:

And then of course this. I don't remember if its the first dungeon crawler but its the seminal one. Leveling and upclassing characters was amazing; all the different sub- and special classes; Did everyone make a ninja? All the things you could do in a tiny square viewport. Tiltawatt, wasn't it? 40+ years later I think I still remember the spell.
