Bought a vehicle outside of VA - they transferred my plates, and the salesman only put the rear plate on and put the other plate in the Trunk. I wasnt even thinking about it and the next thing I know a State Trooper in VA is pulling me over for not having a front plate. Then the plates werent finalized or something with Virginia was another problem. Next thing I know, I have five or 6 state troopers parked behind me like I was a god damn drug dealer. County cops pulling up and "checking things out" and more. Sat there for at least an hour and a half before they let me go all because I didnt have a plate on the front of the vehicle. Was not a happy camper with that dealership, but made me realize how fucking nuts VA is over a damn front License Plate.

What is the problem with front plate? Here in Europe, I think all countries have that.

You are supposed to point to this sign and give them the password. Lots of stuffing running up and down 95 makes easy pickings for the authorities.

The front plate provides a perpendicular reflective surface for the radar guns to accurately track speed of oncoming vehicles. Not having one allegedly makes it more difficult to determine if a driver is speeding, and anything that makes a cop’s life difficult is verboten.

Sure but thats not why they want front plates. They want front plates so cops can more easily run plates on vehicles and you're more likely to be spotted speed/traffic cameras when they are looking for cars with a certain plate. You need cameras coming/going to get the rear plate + driver, only need cameras on approach if they have front plates.

State inspections fucking suck until you go somewhere like Kentucky and a vehicle in front of you looks like its going to fall apart at the slightest bump and take you and everyone else behind him, out.
