but it's not, these packets absorb ethylene gas which all veggies and fruits produce, some more than others after being picked

this is also the reason why you have individually wrapped cucumbers and shit, which is to prevent the gases it gives off, from going to the other friuts

i just take painters tape (this is what i use to label dates on my packages, painters tape is great, it sticks forever, can survive many washes in the washing machine, and it removes easily and is still somehow fucking reusable), write the date on the back of the packet (there is a preforated side, you can tell) and just throw it in the crisper.
after 2 months i just throw in another one, don't even bother to find the old one, not like it hurts to just leave it there.
I've had a head of romaine in my crisper for 2months and it still looks fresh, yup, it's not gooey or mushy or liquidy... i mean i'm not gonna eat it, but i just wanna see how long before it becomes funk (i might just throw it out soon anyway)
