This came up with my neighbors who keep inviting me to Thanksgiving this year. Karen (her real name) is having chocolate cream pie. I was like WTF is that? We don't eat that. Donna is doing mash and gravy. I was like WTF you having mashed? There's too much OTHER good shit to make. Dickie and Diane (the old couple across the street) tried enticing me with pumpkin pie. I joked saying I don't wear brown boots and sweaters guys. Thanks anyway.

That might be the case with Friendsgiving and all of that shit. Its not about the food, they dont really eat it anyways. But Wine Festival? Dont you dare turn that down. Watching Kim, Tiffany, Stephanie, Jordan, Kayla, and Emily (the types) all get shit faced drunk is probably one of the higher highlights of my year, each year.

Chocolate cream pie is such a conundrum.
I mean, its fake "food magazine" food. Its not cooking. I have a hard time really thinking of it as a pie, they bought 2 or 3 ingredients and put one on top of the other then served it. Skill-less, soulless, just an embarrassment to anyone who takes pride in cooking a delicious dessert.
Its also really fucking tasty.

I'm white, but I agree with that skit 100%. This past weekend, I went to visit my Mom, and was offered a plate from a friendsgiving. It had non-smoked brisket, and the potato salad had black olives in it. I did not partake!

Oh no, I have to disagree. A chocolate cream pie made from scratch isn't just two to three ingredients. Melting chocolate, tempering the eggs, homemade crust... It is definitely a pie.

Completely fair. I concede the point, if you actually made it from scratch with homemade chocolate pudding and a homemade pie crust thats a real pie.
Ain't nobody who brings a chocoloate cream pie making it from scratch. But in principle, in theory, I agree with the exception you've carved out.
