The show runners mentioned they didn’t want to do the Homelander clone plot from the comics, so they had to effectively invent new stuff for him

It's not like show is going for any attempt at subtlety, but this seems like a terrible take given that it isn't even slightly true, starting with Starlight herself.

Season overall was kind of 'eh'. I liked the first season a lot more than I expected to, but s2 was pretty uneven in comparison.

Not a fan of 'this universe now officially works on shonen anime rules - bad guy too tough ? just try harder for unexplained in-fight powerup'

I was a huge defender of S1 and Alien earth but I could make it past 5 episodes of either and had to walk away

One thing about the show I do not like, is when super powers are not explained. You have a person who's ass apparently is a Trojan Horse/Bag of Holding/Undetectable Extension charm. There is no more details about that ability. How do people breathe? Is it a space that creates a pocket universe that is like a furnished room? How many can he fit? What happens if he dies and people are still inside? Where does this guy's shit actually go? How do people get in? They always showed them coming out. That part is important because if the super power just sucks people in, all the villain had to do was mind control him and then bring the entire room, except of course for the villain, inside his ass. That actually would have been kind of funny. What a way to win...

Mahes I get your point, but I think Cipher is one of the early episodes of S2 says that there's a student with a singularity in his asshole so that explains it -a little-... not how people breathe or live inside it, but it's apparently a black hole basically. I'm sure that was just the joke in the writing room.

just binged the season, boring shit. i get its aimed at 20-year olds so i'm not gonna old man rant at clouds at the show, but it started off strong with an interesting mysterious villain whose master plan is revealed as just a dumpster fire that makes no sense. His entire story revolves around him killing 95% of supes because ??? If 5 billion humans can easily overwhelm 6000 supes, how the fuck are 50 supes gonna work against 5 billion humans lol

these dumb cameos are not cool, they are just annoying because i don't give a fuck about annie or a-train who are all useless. show would have been automatic 8/10 if homelander showed up and killed some of these retards but nah, he's now into making phone calls or something i guess.

don't bother watching, season 1 was decent but season 2 was just not interesting at all and the characters all suck. thank god The Boys ends in 1 more season, that show has gone on way too long as well
