I’m interested in Steam box, but I actually think Sony might turn about. We’ll see. The Japanese office needs to start exerting more will on the 1st and 2nd party development. But I also think we’ll never see a PS2 era type surge in gaming community. It’s returning to the nerds some. Every casual gamer I know stopped at ps4 and hasn’t bought madden since 2021 or some shit. Xbox is lost. Somehow Nintendo has won the console wars even though I still think Sony makes the best overall console if you don’t have a PC.

I’m not really the right person to comment about online - I have played only BG3, D4 and PoE2 online and did PC. Ironically, I plugged a fucking 360 controller in and used that for all three of those. So I definitely will consider a steam box. But I still maintain my Pc in my office for projects, wife doing PTA shit, etc. I guess I could get a cheap laptop.

for all the stupid decisions they've made, they still (to this point) take good care of their IPs. If those giant leaks last year were true and the next Pokemon game is suddenly full to the brim of SJW faggotry then maybe nobody survives the console wars.

Ram, storage of all types. Nvidia no new 6x for at least a year, cutting out production except for the very bottom and very top of the GPU market. I bet PC component makers start folding left and right in 6 months.

As soon as Apple and all the other big OEM's run out of their stash of ram and storage, prices will go way up, and availability will dry up.

That is one of the reasons I went ahead and upgraded my laptop. The market is uncertain in the next 6 months+ to how AI is going to effect pricing of anything computer related. My current laptop has a 2085 which still runs most games but with games like Witcher 4, Crimson Desert, and GTA6 coming, the ole 2085 will have a rough time running smoothly in descent settings. So, I figure a 5080 will do the trick and last another 7-8 years.
