FUCKING NERDS!

Jesus Christ no, that dude looks like a fucking clown. The closest I ever came to being in costume was wearing a cheap long-coat while doing two-gun mojo in CarnEvil. Total bullshit ass game that existed purely to steal your money but just the simple gimmick of having a pump shotgun instead of the standard pistol was a big deal back then.

Damn dude, that sounds cool as fuck. I bet you smashed hella gash back then.
At no point did I ever claim anything about it was cool, it was just fun.

I am claiming you're an insufferable prick though.

Funny thing about those massive cabinets they had for those 4 player games. I was working at a arcade over summer while they were all being released, we did eventually get that massive X-men cabinet(it had 2 player pedestals 4 players comfortably it even looked like the cabinet had some seats planned at one point, and a fucking MASSIVE CRT Tube), moving company fucked up on the shipment though and literally ripped the wiring between the CPU and player pedestals... That was 4 days of cutting wires/heat shrinking because all the parts for those massive cabinets were on back-order, 4-6months out for new parts.

That fucking game though I played the shit out of it after I got it fixed, 100% worth it.

I remember we had a place that had the six player version. That was so badass back then.

My local arcades were pretty trash in Redding, CA when I was a kid. it was like... the Mt. Shasta mall, and then whatever you would find at rando pizza parlors/etc.

Interestingly enough, I found out recently (like three years ago) that Shasta Pizza (a place that I went to almost daily) had a super custom arcade built for them. It was SF2:Turbo and for some reason if you beat the other player it would give you half of their credits (50 a play, you'd get 25 added to yours). This was apparently not even remotely common and I have no idea why/how the place had the cabinet. My friends and I used to scam the other kids by pretending to suck and then barely winning, repeatedly (think Ken doing weak low kicks type bullshit tick damage) and would rack up into like 20 dollars or more. We'd hang around till the place was getting ready to close and then the owner would open up the box and pay us like 75% of whatever credits we had left. At the time it would basically get us like three large pizzas or some shit (I honestly forget) and that was like... Monday-Thursday for us, super consistently. I think the guy let us keep doing it because at the end of the day the kids we were beating were spending money on pizza and shit more than they would if we weren't running a borderline poolhall scam.

I reached out a year or two ago trying to see if they still had the cabinet; it was destroyed in a fire in the early 2000s =/ The current owners have no idea what went into getting it. I legit thought until a few years ago that it was a pretty normal thing. Turns out? Nope! Someone at the pizza shop management custom ordered the thing somehow.

Anyway, just wanted to share. I remember playing Tekken 3 in the arcades and being surprised when I wasn't getting credits added after abusing the shit out the korean kicking guy who wasn't Baek. Hwarang I think.

At the time I was in the arcades, most people were either playing the Avengers game ('America still needs your help!') or whatever fighting game was most popular at the moment. MK2, SF2:T, Tekken 2, etc. The rest of the cabinets were typically empty.

Sweet. My son and I play the original rom once in a while but it’s kind of boring. This looks like it will change it up enough to be more fun.

I readily admit its probably an oversized fear on my behalf; again, I had "image persistence", which is what they called burn in on early LCD monitors, when 15-17-19 inch LCD monitors were still state of the art.

Really my manager has had his for 3 years now, not 2 and with active use, still no burn in, which speaks to their longevity. A sale you say?

Great, now I am going to have to figure out what to do with this old monitor I use as a back up sitting on my work bench if I pull the trigger, or or get a bigger desk. :)

Edit: Holy shit you weren't kidding: 42" C4 on sale for $800 at Amazon: LG C4 OLED Panel on sale right now at Amazon wow that link was f'ed up long.
It’s $700 now. I just got mine yesterday so I’m going to try to get the $ difference. It’s absolutely gorgeous too, highly recommend. The refresh rate, visuals, low latency was a major upgrade over my previous tv. Biggest visual leap I’ve ever seen for my pc.

The MO will continue until someone sues them for calling it a Collector's Edition when the game isn't even included. When they are forced to call it something else suddenly it all falls apart.

Well yeah, because it's not 'Borderlands 4 CE' like he and Wario64 called it. Man, gamers like to be outraged over some dumb shit. It's effectively just a merch bundle releasing alongside the game, people are being dumb trying to call it what it's not. Other games have done this already, this is the first one that came to mind:

I am sure there will be plenty of opportunities to dump on Borderlands 4, this is a dumb one.

They wouldn't have bought it if they didn't think it would be profitable and pcgamer is one of the worst group of corporate shills in the entire gaming "journalism" industry

Of course, that's the funny part of it. All gaming "journalism" is shill bullshit, but only PCGamer is trying to tell people nothing will change. The other articles I skimmed didn't even mention what various users had dug up on the new owners. Most people around here should be able to read between the lines on whatever gaming "Journalism" is spewing.

Hell, a bunch of websites wouldn't even say "sold;" instead they opted for something like "founder steps back" or "handed over control."
