I know I had an NES as a kid, but the only games I remember owning were the SMB/Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet cartridge and Tiny Toon Adventures. I gave it to my childhood babysitter when theirs broke, probably because I had moved on to SNES mostly. Luckily my mom kept that and most of my games, then gave it back to me after I bought my house. I bought a broken NES off ebay a few years ago and fixed it, then got an EverDrive to finish a bunch of the games I never did as a kid. Also bought a few of the classic SNES games that I didn't own to add to my collection and play.
I can think of a lot more things that I regret throwing away than things I regret keeping, but I probably do keep a lot of stuff I shouldn't. I have a bunch of boardgames I haven't even opened. Comic books and trading cards I'll never read/look through. I don't want to trash them, but I don't have the drive to sell/ship them.
