It looks interesting but $20 is a little much for me to try out a roguelike/lite when there's a ton of $10 options out there.
Idk man, that many overwhelming positive reviews, it’s probably worth $20 or more. Think about how much $20 really is nowadays. I spent twice that taking my wife out for breakfast this morning.

Woooooooooooow. Greatest game gets new stuff out of nowhere! Are they still working on it?
No, it's just a mod by three dudes. No idea how much they can even change/add. BG 1/2 had a decent amount of mods, but PS:T seemed more difficult to mod (or there wasn't as much interest in changing it). They estimate the full project will be done in 2031...

There will never be (good) official xpac/DLCs for these old games. Black Isles is long dead and the IP holder of Planescape, Wizards of the Coast, is 100% trash.

Also, here is an interview with the mod makers:

Yeah I was going to post about this mod until I saw the 2031 date, that sounds like old school vaporware to me.

2031 would be faster development time than 7d2d, which went into EA in 2013 and officially released in 2024. It would also be shorter development than Project Zomboid which also went into EA in 2013, is still in EA, and probably won't be officially released this decade.

Has anyone else been following N64 hardware emulation using FPGAs?

There are a couple of dedicated boxes coming out from Analogue and ModRetro. Analogue is promising 4k upscaling, not clear on ModRetro. Both have released hardware in the past and have serious developers working on the projects, so, I don't think they'll be vaporware (even though Analogue had delayed release 3 times now).

This article sort of summarizes things:

I just want to play some WWF No Mercy and Pokemon Puzzle League on my main TV without a lot of futzing around.

Man, the N64 is a system I just never got excited about. I still feel like it is up there with the WiiU in terms of shit tier games list including first party. But man the top of the heap was stellar with the Zelda’s and Mario.

Banjo kazooie, goldeneye and jet force Gemini were pretty solid.

So was that game where you drove around on the moon or whatever in your dump truck and bulldozed stuff. Can't even remember what it was called but remember hours and hours of fun playing that.

I was just playing the new Skate, it's basically The Sims/Fortnite skateboarding. Total generic corporate gaming slop in 2025. Doesn't feel like the old games at all and basically zero passion or authentic skate culture to be found. I figured it would be like this when I saw the previews and heard it was free2play, playing it myself only confirmed my pattern recognition and suspicions.
