I kept my N64 in the closet for years and pulled it out for my kids, they were like 10ish at the time? They still have fond memories of goldeneye and tony hawk skating. It was the first video games they played.

I have the Zelda collection and the OoT collection for GameCube. I really enjoyed that era of gaming.

This was me but with the PS2. They were so fucking hard to get back in the day they were almost mythical (for a kid at least). Could not believe my Mom managed to get one a couple months in (just in time for Christmas)

As a big RPG fan, the N64 sucked - however, it forced me to play other games.

The N64 controller was meant to be held in 2 ways, left on the left, or left on the center - right on the right always.... it wasnt that hard...but the "c stick" was a poor 2nd analog.

But it had some bangers, Zelda, Goldeneye, StarFox, Mario obviously...etc etc...

ps1. two equally sized shoulder buttons. just a SNES controller with 2 instead of 1 shoulder button.

ps2 dual shock, copies the vibration, the joystick, the trigger buttons.
sure we can state it streamlined it with 2 joysticks, and moving them to a single grip position. but this is an evolution, not a revolution in controllers.

The wiimote is one of the worst controllers.
(even though I REALLY like the nunchuck aspect)

Yea i really wish i could hold like the switch 2 pro controller and pull it in 2 and hold each one in a slovenly manner apart from each other. Maybe you can with the tiny switch xontrollers but they are painful to hold

The guy he was replying to was saying he was using one hand on the d-pad and the other on the stick, so at least one person didn’t understand the purpose. I agree it looks retarded after the PlayStation released the dual stick in the configuration that they did. At the time though it was genius, I remember being impressed by it and the way things were controller with it in 3d, even though the ergonomics sucked. It was just a shitty first iteration is all.

Lest we forget...

It just didn't use analog sticks, but dual d-pads, it had 2 trigger buttons and was before the N64... Nintendo understood the "3d worlds need 3d directions" - but nintendo HAS to do something wonky each generation anytime after SNES.
