That's like 1 step away from sucking a cock for an fbss

Given all the drama on my server, there was probably a lot of this going on for loot

Quarter of a century on and I still haven’t forgotten The Relentless officer who gave the grey suede boots from VP to the female wood elf Druid he was cybering instead of the monk in the raid who needed them

I had massive TZS.

(Tanner Zoom Syndrome) - coined by BotS

(Tanner being another term coined by BotS, word for kid basically, something about "tanning your hide" I think)
Yeah lol hide tanner was used all the time. Ahhh miss the Rathe Travel Agency day’s and all the fighting between BotS, MFH, and umm shit. 25 years later and I’ve already forgotten. Clan Icewhine? Haha. Mmmaarrrcceeeesss

We used the term tanner on our server as well with the same meaning. The joke was they couldn’t stay up late to raid otherwise they got beaten with a belt by their parents

All this discussion and we’re shocked that the most shut-in of MMO players thought cutting their dicks off IRL would get more tips IRL

I had a rl buddy who had a wood elf female alt in EQ. There was some dude he had a vendetta against and he made the alt to cyber the guy, got tons of items and money from him, married him in game. Then he’d log off the alt and just torment the guy with his main, making trains wherever he was grouping. He eventually got tired of it and told the guy he was a dude, called him a fag for cybering a dude, etc. Shit was so fucking funny, he lived for it.
Gee golly he sure taught that guy a lesson.

This, exactly. No matter what excuse a person made for it, no matter what motivation they claimed, the reality was that they were treated as an actual RL woman by a sizable fraction of players in the game.

The purpose of a system is what it does.
People treat female avatars in Wow or EQ differently than male avatars?

Are we being serious here or roleplaying some faggot?

I cant fucking wait for this, Hell Let Loose took some time to cook but its probably the best shooter on the market currently. They finally figured out how to make it run buttery smooth and added dynamic weather and fog to reduce visibility on the more open maps.

Purple Heart Lane can suck my balls tho.

I can't wait for this. The racism in chat should be fun as well.

The only thing that seems like it might be an issue is while Hell Let Loose had relatively "similar" tech between zeee Germans, Russians, and Allies, it seems like the Vietcong would be massively outclassed.

Man i played a female in ffxi which kind of predated the popularity of voice chat and they absolutely did. I never said I was a girl, people who knew me definitely knew I was a dude and my character was hilariously named after a pornstar. However the Japanese players were super creepy about it.

I very specifically remember a high level dude helping me with some quest item shit for a few hours and when we shot the shit somehow he found out I was a dude and went wtf and instaleft the party.

I use to two box SWG my second character was a female, whenever I got a random /tell on that character I responded with "I have a penis."

Seems unreal since in WoW a solid minority of character avatars were female and we knew damn well none of them were chicks.

Initial and early Everquest days (and by extension anything else during that era) absolutely had this situation. Female characters got better treatment than male characters as a baseline, all else equal. The phenomenon began to fade as the years, and voice chat, progressed, but yeah… it was definitely a thing. Part of internet gaming cultural naïveté.
