I can see Steam creating a quality discord-like platform and owning the market.

Yep. I frequently send them pictures of my butthole and I haven’t seen a single one leak to the net yet.

Well… that’s because I’ve been intercepting them and re-routing them to my FoH buttholes archive. It’s almost complete!

If Justin Wong isn't in to your TAG FIGHTER of all people, you've got problems. The game is just way too up it's own ass with devs and designers that were competitors from the FGC. Seems like it's far too complicated and aggro for the casuals.
Kind of a shame- it looks real nice, and i'm sure the netcode is great.

i personally preferred teamspeak idk why, i think it was less resource heavy, regardless i put teamspeak on my bot/alt pc when raiding anyway
TS definitely had the better features for voice. You could setup different command groups and priorities so you could have 10 squads, a squad leader group that could hear squad leader chat and a general/commander that would prio all the talking, or however you wanted to abstract it. I want to say you could even have channels for cross server comms in the case of alliances but I might be misremembering that.

I concede to your expertise on the subject of sexually abusing children.
First time Ive laughed today.
Riot laying off a bunch of the 2xko dev staff. Game hasn't even been out for a month and was in development for 10 years.

This is one of the reasons I have almost zero hope that this MMO thats still in development by them is going to be worth a fuck. The whole companies claim to fame is monetizing WC-3 DOTA - the company is creatively bankrupt and always has been. They incorporated shit like TFT etc. into the League client just to get eyes on those products, but they still struggle. League is over a decade old now, and it aint picking up very many new players as far as I can tell. New Accounts =/= mean new players no matter how they want to present it to their chinese overlords.

I cant see anyone returning to TS, Vent, Mumble, etc. in any type of serious capacity. A new competitor will come into the void that Discord leaves after this draconian change.

This is kind of going to be the new norm. Using CSAM as a front to push authoritarian mechanisms. It's been going on in the EU for a few years now. And if you object you look like the creep.
This.

"Think of the children" has been the defacto way to erode rights for America's entire history. This is about getting a profile on people who attempt to use Discord to organize.

The US will get there, don't you worry lil fella.

Cops in the US are already showing up to people's homes over things they posted on social media. There was a case in Florida very recently.

I'm not worried! When the Commies take over, Doxxing Bot 2028 is going to take ten times as long to find me than most of you fuckers...

This term is so lame. They should’ve coined it as slop-coding.

The sound of salty devs being replaced.

I have a really cool/functional app on the app store that would've cost me $20k a year ago. I did it for $100.

I’m not a dev other than gathering data and developing metrics with SQL. I just don’t like what AI is doing to people.

Girl at work does not have a coding background but we brought her in due to being trainable and wanting to learn. She’s been learning SQL and continuing to learn and understand it better over the years. Once our workplace implemented an AI tool she started using that to do her SQL work. She has completely stopped trying to learn anything and just has the AI do it and she’ll send you the results with “not sure if this is right I used the AI to do it”.

It’s sad that we’re just enabling laziness and discouraging learning something useful. I guess once the AI is good enough it won’t be considered useful to learn anymore but from my perspective it just seems lazy and sad. We’re purposely making ourselves dumber.
