Anyone interested in star trek voyager across the unknown? Demo is out on steam etc. I'll try it later but seems it plays like the series but you can choose your adventure and do some resource management etc.

Demo wasn't bad. Think Oregon trail meets star trek. The demo was basically the pilot episode but you can make different decisions. My first go through i told them to not destroy the array and got sent back to earth, arrested the maquis, and game just said you did it, made it back home, but missed out on the adventure or something. 2nd time I went more warlike but destroyed the array.
Combat was OK, ship drove itself, fired phasers automatically but let you fire photon torpedoes and choose where to aim and what part of ship to face enemy etc.
Game seems ok, for $31 on sale with steam, if you are a star trek fan but moreso if you liked voyager.
If you didnt like voyager, or even star trek I doubt you'll get anything out.
Read the full version fixed a lot of issues with the demo, like lack of music and apparently Tom paris and/or tutor give each sector an introduction as voice acting in the full game.
Give it a 8 if you like that kind of game and voyager, a 4 or 5 if you aren't fans of either.

It's a decent game, it's just not a $30 game. It seems "deep" at first but is actually fairly shallow once you start figuring things out. The combat system is also pretty shitty and they don't do a great job explaining the controls either.
At $15-20 and a Star Trek fan I'd say go for it. But if you aren't a fan, it isn't really offering much.

May just wish list it and wait for a huge sale if the publishers history stays true to deep discounts on their other titles. Been over 2 decades since the show so no rush if its mostly fanfare.

Anyone got tips for a mega chill game to play?
I'm in such a gaming slump right now. Been browsing Steam for some town builder game etc to play but hard to pick something. Been eyeing Foundation but have not bought it yet. Also Mewgenics but not sure how much brain power is needed there.
