Sony changed leadership positions a year ago and went through a management restructuring so we are just now moving to the new guys' personal agendas. If it sounds dumb and is going to cost them a lot of money.. of course it is this is the fuck-around period.

Still too much hear-say about AMD. I read it didn't work with VR, I read the Frames were dogshit. Every bit of it was wrong and I don't have to worry about my house burning down while saving 800 bucks.

TBF, the only reason I went with Nvidia is because my buddy sold me his used 4070 ti for $450. Otherwise, I would've gotten a 9070 xt. I've personally had no issues with Nvidia, so far, but it's only been 3 months. And the 12 GB of Vram has been plenty. The only game Ive ever gotten it to even hit 12 GB Vram was everything ultra-maxed on RE2 Remake in 1440p.

Yeah about that... it is mostly inertia and people still believing the Nvidia reputation and equating Nvidia = Gaming, and FUD about AMD drivers. Ironically, this is when games are primarily developed for consoles who run on AMD. Well, except for the Nintendo Switch, but the Switch is hardly a performance target.

There was the point there AMD said "fuck it, people don't buy our high end cards so we don't compete in that segment, because it is wasted money". And Nvidia knows that, and is pumping all of its engineering into AI, because that makes more money. But don't take it from me, take it from the legendary Gordon Mah Ung:

Sony is strategizing to get out of the PC releases of their games because they feel that’s the reason why their subscription revenue has tanked and people stopped buying their consoles, feeling 1st party exclusives will bring them back.

The real reason is their subscription service fucking sucks, paywall for online, console prices have increased to make PC’s more reasonable, their 1st party exclusives are full of DEI horseshit now, and steam machine is going to fucking eat both Sony and Microsoft alive - and they have only one straw to grasp at and it’s already the short straw.

Fuck both Sony and Microsoft - Kiss our asses.

I'm curious to see with how PC's are becoming more expensive due to ram and GPU if Sony can do a Nintendo and keep price low as a competitive advantage. If what they did with PS3 is any indication they'll do the opposite.

I still think they can't compete with Steam machine which I do plan to wait and buy.

Weird thing is, while Ram and M.2’s are skyrocketing, you can buy 9800x3d 5080 pre builds (with very good components) for 2399. Take into account the BS paywalls with subscriptions and that PC pays for itself over three years. Then add having to repurchase games for “upgrades” where it’s a slider on a PC. We, and myself, were so conditioned with this rip off scheme it became the norm.

Steam will break that free.

yeah if Sony had 2-3 games a year that you could only play on PS5 and were must play games it would make sense to keep it PS5 exclusive. Thats what Nintendo does but the important thing is they tend to have those games like Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda, etc. Nothing ground breaking or really must play but if you want those games you get a nintendo (or learn to emulate and hack, but not switch 2 yet).

The last few Sony games have all been DEI dogshit. Ghosts of Yotei, aka Angry Japanese Lesbian Ninjas. Last Of Us 2 aka Angry White Lesbians in the Apocalypse. Horizon Forbidden West aka Angry White Lesbian in the Apocalypse.

why would any sane guy give a single fuck what Sony does anymore.

The #1 reason I built a gaming pc was because the $10-15/month online subscription fee to play games I already own online. I never did the gamepass thing for more than a month at a time. With how cheap xbox deals are, the prices were reasonably competitive with steam for newer titles. It was the online fee that made me switch.

Xbox used to have $60/year for online membership. Then they 86'd it to roll it into the gamepass subscription at a much higher rate.

I never got far into playing on console (after ps1) is because console games diverged from what I like, and playing on a controller is lame and gay.

Man I wrote ps2 there and forgot I never owned one. The last console I got for me was a ps1 haha. I do have a switch for the kids
