So... it was clearly established already yet crazed fanfic shippers decided to pester the creator with their crazy. Or in other words: nothing new happened.

HLL is a good crossover between sim and arcade. My group of friends and I can turn a complete loss around into a victory. Amazing game, but there is a learning curve. Let me know if you wanna get rolling.

Vietnam will be the first time I play a game like that solo, it's that good.
I’ll be getting HLLV when it comes out so we’ll play for sure

Your edit is wrong.

The internet was fine when it was a bunch of white guys typing on desktop computers. Not fine, it was fuckin great.

The internet itself isnt the problem.
When it was "only" a bunch of white "nerds" on the internet, to be specific. Then the juice boxes got involved and commercialized it to the extreme so it would reach "more users" and the rest is history. Pretty much like their push for Warhammer right now.

No, the internet *is* the problem. I was there for the Eternal September. AOL and BBSes didn't join the internet, they became the internet. What came before was corrupted into what we have now. And it definitely is the problem. That was the death knell for true and intimate human connection, and until the inevitable population collapse happens that can't be fixed. Societies, economies, and education became fake and gay as more and more people became terminally online mouth breathers.

BBS's were great back in the day because you had one phone line and had to get off or your parents would kill you. Operation Overkill II, Trade wars, some of those persistent BBS games were awesome. Typically the Sysop had one line too and if you were on playing Trade Wars no one else could until you got off.

Would there be any benefit to have a high refresh rate OLED monitor for a business setting?

I'm wondering if I can get a new monitor for work from my boss, but am wondering how to phrase it to get them to pay for an high fps oled one.

If you are going to expense it just say you need a new monitor for work. Get work to fully cover it or partially cover it. Record the part they don't cover as a work related expense when you do your taxes.

Double check bc I believe the Tax Cut and Jobs Act changed what are allowable deductions. Also, it wouldn’t matter unless you’re itemizing anyways, but just check to make sure it qualifies and you don’t spend $1,000 hoping to include it in your 2026 deductions and can’t. I only keep up with it for self employment reasons and trying to mix max my stuff each year.

I work a W2 salaried position for my day job and I'm an author, so a small business owner on the side. I don't earn much/year. For example, my sales from Amazon alone last year were $800, but my computer I use for writing cost me about $1,200, so I wrote it off as a business expense. The IRS actually contacted me separately because I gave them about $1000 over what I should have when I did my taxes so they refunded me twice. Which was nice.

Always better to overpay than under. I've owed a few thousand before and that's not very fun.

Oh yeah if you run it through your side LLC or whatever you’d be fine. I refresh my laptop / monitors every year because I have basically zero operating expenses unless I really try.
