I got no horse in this race anyways. I buy physical if I really like a movie, otherwise right on my plex it goes from the high seas

I used to pirate games as demos and buy them if I wanted to keep playing because I was tired of being burned by shit games but since steams return policy I haven’t had to. I don’t think there’s any real excuse to pirate games anymore unless you’re just tight on funds.

If someone can't afford a game then there is a bigger issue and they need to reconsider work and income versus fucking off with a game.

Demanding a physical disc for a game that runs online, on servers that are run by the company that makes the game is is a very boomer-brained thing.

I've got a dozen+ discs of MMO's that are now defunct. Even if an EMU popped up you'd be able to download it for free to play it. It's just a nonsensical thing now to complain about.

If you like something and want to use it, shouldn’t you pay for it?
And I would if someone sold it to me.

But as seen, they don't sell those movies. They provide you with a license whose terms you did not negotiate, and that can be revoked at any time. So I can't buy the movie from a legitimate seller? I'll buy it from the black market instead.

And that's what I do. I pay a Usenet subscription, and use a dedicated lookup/download system. I am paying. Just to the people who are willing to sell me the actual movie instead of temporary shit.

The studios are willing to sell the movies too. Blu-ray’s come with a digital code. And well, a permanent disc. You’re still just pirating even though you’re paying the pirate hosts.

I bought Expedition 33 physical only it wasn’t. It’s a download key, but if my HD corrupts or something in 15 years - can i even re-download that game? Probably not.

I need to bite the bullet and set up a plex server.

What was the last movie that you downloaded from Usenet? If it was available to purchase as a physical disc, then why didn't you buy it?
