For me it's not about the media either. It's them suddenly taking my shit away without recourse. I think it's high time there was some legislature passed about rights of consumers as far as digital media is concerned.
All it's going to cause is more piracy going forward. It's the simple logical conclusion to all of this stupidity of taking things away from people they paid for.
She is actually saying all the right things; however, as someone that has worked exclusively for Fortune 500 companies my entire career, they say that they want to increase agility and decrease red tape but there is always a huge mountain of bureaucracy that decisions necessarily must go through in these giant organizations. The comment about FIFTEEN levels of management is telling and cutting that by 2/3rd or 4/5th sounds like a big step in the right direction.
Yeah. I got no problems with what she said. Right now I am 3 levels from the number 2 in my company and have them on text. It makes for fantastic agility.
I think Xbox is going to still end up with SteamBox X at the end of the day- but that’s probably a good strategy.
i bet a lot of those layers are also inclusiveness and diversity and shit like that, which is why you end up with all characters looking like ugly fat lesbians
until they get rid of people who only like to tell you NO instead of actually coming up with new ideas, big corpos like msft/google/facebook are fucked
Depends on the company, but it usually boils down to people directly reporting to someone over them. So maybe you have a team leader, who reports to a manager, who reports to a senior manager, who reports to a director and then you get various shades of VPs and executives. Each role in theory has been delegated some responsibility from the tier above them.
I guess it could be a double edged sword in theory unless they simultaneously identified low value work things they don’t need, otherwise they’re saddling those work things on a smaller team because they still need to get done
