This is a thread for past games that flew under the radar that are still worth checking out today.
PS1:LSD (Lovely Sweet Dream).
The game was built as a dream simulator and consequently, is one of the craziest games ever made. It is a first person game where you interact with your environment to further delve into your dream. There is no winning/losing, characters, or story to this game - you're just there to trip. Dreams have a large element of randomness so playthroughs are never the same.
SNES: Lufia 2
One of the better RPGs on the SNES. Combine a non-angsty Final Fantasy with Zelda puzzle solving and then add pokemon, a casino, dragonballs. Strong story, great gameplay, and tons of stuff to do on the side.
Charles Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden:
A pretty well known game, but most people I've talked to only watched videos of it rather than play it. It's an absurdly funny game that parodies the genre well. The production value for the game is high and the game mechanics are done well. Watch as Michael Jordan gives your son Hoopz Type 2 Diabetes, explore the Tomb of Dikembe Mutumbo, melt stuff with cyborg Vince Carter's laser eyes, and save furries dressed up as Huckelberry Hound.
