I thought it was heavily hinted in the books that a Faceless Man was hired to go kill Balon.
God damn! That was a good episode. Guess everyone thinking Roose was going to come out on top over his son were completely wrong. The book nerds are probably going to throw themselves off a bridge after that episode.

Wun Wun and Un-Mountain saved that episode. jaime's scene tonight confirmed a lot of things. main thing is the show is veering way off course from the books. so much so its pretty much only "based on characters from" the books now instead of following it. other stuff made little sense, like why is davos willing to give his life to save a corpse? roose bolton was an unimportant character? a 400 year old wicth never heard of resurrection before thoros.
this episode also gives credence to the theory that tyrion was the bastard child of King Aerys

Yeah but who cares? GRRM is never going to finish the books and even if he does it will contain thousands of pages of worthless shit that means nothing towards wrapping up the actual story. HBO is making Game of Thrones great again.

sorry to disagree with you, but that "worthless shit" is the foundation for this formerly great show, everything you love about this show came from GRRM. it sucks that he is taking his fucking time to finish the books, but i have no doubts that when or if he ever does finish them it will make a lot more sense than what is going on now.

Melisandre also says that she does know the ritual, but it's never worked before, so she thinks it's pointless to try. Plus, she's suffering from a crisis of faith. The reason it works now is that magic has returned to the world, ever since the birth of the dragons.

i watched the show, those guys were fine until they locked the door and wouldnt let thorne and his men in to retrieve jon's corpse. i admit it didnt make sense for thorne to just leave jon's body out in the snow and then get all bitchy when it was taken away. none of these guys know jon could be rezzed, including davos, why are they guarding his body? why does davos give a good fuck? why is davos not fucking stabbing melisandre for killing shireen?

enjoying the season so far, Ramsay is sorta like king Joffrey in that its cool having a villain to utterly hate, but man you REALLY want to see him getting his shit pushed in at some point. Total bummer that Roose got played so hard and didn't see it coming
But it was gonna be one of them, and Ramsay probably makes for a better villain on TV.
So far the two episodes are vastly better than the previous seasons first two, hope they can keep the momentum going. End of the day I just want 52 minutes of good story, book stuff is no longer an issue as far as I am concerned this is one story and the books are another. Its like the multiverse stuff in comics.
