Also all of the "realism" shit in 4 was a mega turn off. There was so much sims type bullshit in that game. Oh go to the internet cafe so you can log into facebook and go on dates. Go bowling with your cousins despite Nico being a grimdark PTSD type character.

Like what? I love minigames as much as anyone but it was such a jarring experience to the rest of the game. Removing the fun of driving from GTA just made me put it down for good.
I expected more arcadey driving though. Every vehicles feels like various agility boats. I dunno. I wanted to feel like a borderline mafia superhero that was a driving savant. So I expected forging driving.

Blah. I gave up on GTA4. I loved the story but frankly hated the gameplay. My memory is VC and SA which I remember being ridiculous. Stopped about the time you hit the faggots quests and about the time you gotta pick someone to kill in the Irish family.

I was probably down to 30% left to do in the story. In reality, my complaints have no great basis if the mission failed for dying. But if it failed for someone escaping I got tired or repeating the whole bullshit. And the cover system got finicky some.

Some sports cars might be a bit better but in general its shit.

GTA 5 controls also feel extremely outdated. Aiming on a controller is hell compared to mouse / kb, and even that sucks.

CS 1.6 aim would improve both games significantly.

San Andreas was my favorite GTA. Just the right mix of campy, arcady gameplay and fun. The moment I knew I loved it was that mission where you hijack a jet mid flight from a Cessna. Then fly to Liberty City to ace some guidos and return.

It was so absurd it stunned me. I loved it.

And, as much as GTA 4 has a great story, this is what I missed. I did at least watch the cutscenes of both endings.
