You just saved me $30. Was getting ready to buy another account, and saw this.
The game is really good if you are burned out on raiding and gear progression.
Went to do a daily in Kessex Hills and saw this. Someone wasted the village that was there, and there's a huge storm over the lake. I feel a huge Krait update coming.

The WvW league is in full swing and server transfers are still fucking it up. That 'transfer once a week" restriciton is nowhere near enough; some drama occurs on a server and all of a sudden it's left crippled because lots of people join the bandwagon and transfer to the next best thing.
Except for EUs Vizunahs Square, guess the canadians are still going strong there. No way anyone will beat that server with a nightcrew like that, jesus.

Transfers should be limited to once every 6 or 12 months. You can play everything but WvW with your friends regardless of server anyway, so that takes away most transfer reasons. If you want to WvW with friends roll on their server when you start or transfer there once, no reason to allow another transfer a week or two or 6 later. Not if allowing it has such repercussions on the general server population.

It took me 6 months to fill up the current slots ... Most of the materials are dropping in price anyway.

They did just remove tokens to a special account wallet. so that will have helped.

They put a tarp over the chasm and construction supplies there for a few weeks and then the next living story chapter revealed the queens gauntlet arena stuff. Closed right now but recurring content.

I always play melee, never casters, so I am initially pulled towards Assassin class due to stealth and liking WoW rogues, but I read a thread that they suck in pvp and pve. I do not want a gimped class. So should I play a Warrior instead? Those are like the only 2 that really stand out to me.

Thief is the best single target dps, but there is absolutely no room for error at all. Be prepared to be frustrated if you're going for a thief, especially in pugs. Warrior is overall much easier and not far behind in terms of damage, so I would advise you to go for that. It's the better class for WvW too.

Shame that most classes really need 80 and full exotic gear at least to reach their potential, I have 80 thief, elementalist and warrior and the warrior is almost braindead easy, at least in PvE. Thief is awesome for soloing and exploration thanks to stealth, you can open chests without having to kill mobs guarding them and they have some of the best movement skills with shadowstep and shortbow. Got 100% exploration on him. They provide some utility in groups, mostly thanks to 10s party wide stealth, you can speed up some parts of dungeons and smokescreen blocks projectiles. Blind is mostly nerfed to the ground, sadly.
Go ask the EQMac players about the consequences of Devs letting broken shit ride. You'd better hurry up, though, before the server gets shitcanned for good because of hacks and exploits.

When I said broken I really meant op. It wasn't really that bad considering that it was just fucking fun. It wasn't anything that trivialized content like the trak bp.
