Just because I don’t want anyone to lose sleep and to show my gratitude for the concern of my health, today a pair of (new) ZMF Suede perforated muffs came in for the HD600s.

The previous owner must not have used them much. I've got maybe a few mm of clearance on the top of my giant noggin due to how permanently squish those pads are. Please let me know those replacements go, the ear pads are equally squished on mine. Should probably replace both.

Oh, somewhat related question. I replaced the absolutely filthy pads my old DT 990 so my son could have his first pair of decent headphones. This was my first time ever doing this and the screwdriver slipped while get the ring off and I poked a hole in some sort of paper. I know larger speakers use paper drivers but headphones don't, I think? What did I puncture? I put it back together and seems fine, but hearing is subjective.

Will do. Unfortunately my amp came to town via USPS, bounced around a bit, then left heading west to Denver for some reason, and is now hopefully headed back.

They were very easy to replace though, no tool required. Feel nice on the head, and cost wise it wasn’t that much more than OEM replacements so figured why not. They have perforated versions of suede and calf skin, and s as non perf version as well. These are supposed to be closest to factory apparently.

Looking forward to having everything hooked back up to where it was a few years ago.
