over last month, my urine has been dark/colored off and on, tested positive of blood twice which doc said sometimes happens with kidney stones. last night, was getting ready for bed, taking a leak and noticed it was starting out pretty dark then turn to blood. like 1 min, i am really looking forward to going to bed to shit do i need to go the er? read some shit online, seemed wasn't going to die and wasn't in pain, so went to bed. woke up at few hours later, urine was normal.
tomorrow first appointment with urologist

got a urology appointment finally for kidney stones and cyst.

forgot to update, but nothing really happen. he didn't think cyst was cancerous, but if i wanted they could check by running a camera up my dick. i declined. he wasn't to concerned over blood in the urine unless it happens a lot. no one had every mention it before, scans showed i had 3 kidney stones, but he said, "3 stones we can see with these scans. there are probably many more smaller ones"

fast forward today, out in the shop piddling around moving stuff, then had like 3-4 sharp pains (in the red area)

lasted less than a min and after moving around forgot about it. about an hour later, taking a leak and while not pure blood, lots of blood in it.

Lap hernia repair on Wednesday. Not expecting any issues, and not my first rodeo with general anesthesia, but just in case, been an honor shitposting with y'all.

Well said I would stop whining until I knew something so I guess here goes.

Got 'good'' news today. Grade 2 Oligodendroglioma . They want me to do pill chemo and radiation for 42 odd days and think it's as easy as getting annual checks and not fucking around. I'm good with that. Made my radiation mask last week , today was the final report and we can start scheduling me to get zapped. Said 5 days a week.

Since it looks like I'm sticking around I guess now I just have to figure out how to pay for it all. I'd basically taken a year off of work to figure out what was next with my back, since surgery #7 did fuck all and 1 year is up next month. Now it looks like that's not ALL my back I'm not sure what the future brings.

Low back herniated disc I had trimmed in 2017. Ripe ol age of late 30's.

Back to having issues, not crippling, but daily pain and affecting able to work well as my gun belt really aggravates it and not to mention my hobby farm randomly hurting it.

Doc said they could do another trim but another stop gap, I loathe the injections didnt do shit for me first time anyways. But basically recommendation is total disc replacement. I'm all for it, though queesy at basically having a C section as they go in from the front to do it.

L5/S1? Who fucked it up the first time and was it a micro-discotomy? Is this guy an orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon? It's been about five years since I discussed it with my retired neurosurgeon stepdad, but at the time he had a very negative opinion of the new man made disc replacements. Some rant along the lines of "it's not some fucking simple mechanical part some butcher (his word for orthopedic surgeon) can just cram in like a hip replacement".

I had my L5/S1 done like 25 years ago. It can definitely flare up now and then if I sleep in a shitty bed or act like a dumbass and lift heavy shit. There's no avoiding the degenerative arthritis you develop from them trimming the disc, which is what I have now, but if it's full failure either they didn't do it right, or you've just been abusing it over the years. Is a fusion not a possibility?

How big are the stones? They can see ones as small as 1mm on a CT scan. I passed a 5mm stone a few years ago and it was basically 30 days of hell with on and off sweat inducing pain. When I went into the ER with the worst pain of my life, they told me they could either remove it tomorrow style, or I could let it pass naturally. I LOL'd and said I'm ready to sit on a grenade if it ends the pain, so bring on the shock wave machine. But nononono of course, it was in a place where they couldn't use the shock wave machine, and would instead have to use what sounded like a plumber's snake with a carnival claw on the end to fish it out. I said no fucking way and they gave me 30 days to pass it or I get The Claw. Never drank so much water in my life those thrity days.

First time was a micro disc yes and I was largely symptom free since 2017, occasional aches or if I pushed myself too far it would kinda flare up. certain hard ass things like church pews trigger a lot of sciatic pain.

Can't think of anything specific, but 2 months ago really passed it off. shocks up my spine almost falling when straightening from a crouch etc. It's subsided but pretty strong ache at work and mild rest of time other than bad chairs giving sciatic.

Moving to a hobby farm I figure matter of time seeing as I'm doing things like hanging on to out of control donkeys trying to trim hoofs and chasing escaped emus and tossing hay.

first guy was a neuro, this one Parchuri my coworker was happy with but dunno. He had the opposite opinion more dim view of a fusion unless I had a different circumstance like degeneration along more of my disc's.

Well, good luck and make sure to get a second opinion. From what I read success rate is 60-90% depending on the source, which is on par or better than a fusion. Interestingly enough, the artificial disc actually costs like half of what a fusion does. I would have thought the opposite. Either way your donkey herding days are over. On a positive note I've been using my back issue to get out of company enforced Forced Fun team building activities since like 2010 or so.

won't stop till I'm in a wheelchair, then I can shamelessly become a poopsock gaming invalid.

Though when wife gets her masters degree money coming in was some talk of letting me retire to being farm/ house keeper bitch

My $.02, I put off a fusion forever and when I had it , it did jack shit. I also have a very dim view of disc replacement.

Dunno where you live, can you get 2/3/4 opinions? I always told peeps to avoid getting cut and embrace the shots. That said in my lifetime I *think* I easily have had 30-40 injections. I won't have another one due to the brain tumor because noone can tell me that it WASN"T from the shots.

Can you not adjust lifestyle? I mean damn man that's a big surgery that you have to get over just chase emu's. Maybe just shoot the emu with the pistol from the gun belt? Feel free to tell me to fuck off but I'd never recommend back surgery to anyone unless you are in total crippling pain.

It's affecting my ability to work. give me a few years and If we still have an economy I was looking into retaining into Salesforce.

If it was just farm stuff I'd change. but if anything on my weekends when I'm doing farm shit I actually feel the best. Just gun belt standing a good chunk of the day is no Bueno.

Think I mentioned, shots didn't do anything for me. maybe I misunderstand them, but figure more for inflammation. I have disc pushing into a nerve. the only ought thought eye those simulators but not sure those would work on this.

Back surgeries 5 & 6 were pain stimulators. The test for #5 went well, the install went well and I was at 0 pain for 2 months of total bliss....then my whole left side pretty much stopped working. We eliminated everything except the stimulator (since multiple MRI's/CT/Xrays showed nothing had moved) and finally removed the stimulator which resolved the issue. I was given a choice of try another stimulator , or get a fusion. I didn't want a fusion so much that I tried another stimulator which was a failure and never helped. There isn't much downside to the test install, if you want to try it go for it.

Coincidentally, the brain tumor was on the right front part of my brain and impacted my left side so , was it a bad back or was it a tumor or was it a combo of both? Since I finally have some direction on the tumor, I meet with my pain mgmt doc this week to talk about walking back pain meds.

I *was* in the same space, 7 surgeries and I was/am living pain med to pain med , wtf. Turns out at least part of my back problem wasn't my back.

the 3 seen were between 1.5 and 2.5mm. think so far pasted one around 2mm and 3 under 1mm. the 2mm one sent me to the er went moving around, but didn't hurt that bad to pass. one of the small ones apparently cut or cased an abrasion inside my dick, that hurt for like weeks. these last one was apparently passed without issue, but caused bleeding. been having bunch of random pain last few days, so guess another is getting ready to do something.

when i was young, my dad had a large stone that wouldn't move, they did the shock wave thing and it didn't work. he was wrecked for like 6 weeks.

Doing OK so far, worst part was getting over general anesthesia like usual. Was only out for about 30-45 minutes, but it took about 6 hours to not feel nauseated/dizzy.

wife got bit on Friday by a brown recluse. 5 hours later went to er. she was faint and has had occasional strokes of that. but despite various medical and injections she's rough. rash on most of her body with weeping skin rash on joints and hot spots like inner leg and armpit etc. tonight we pokes and drained the bite which was mildly white cell cloudy blood.

lots of pain in the area, not sure when Dr throws her hands up an a refers her to sone kind of hospital or specialist, not sure what else they can really do. has a wound clinic appt but they can't even get her in for a while.

bite area tonight vs a couple days ago and no her stomachs isn't usually a tomato

So it's just about cluster season for me again (usually around September), and I figured I'd post this just for awareness.

I found Clusterbusters maybe 5 or so years ago and the community is an absolute lifesaver (literally, we regularly would get updates about a member committing suicide due to the headaches; hence their moniker of "suicide headaches"). So anything I can do to get them more support the better.
