If your family has any history of cancer, get the procedure. There are always risks, but colonoscopies are very low on that scale. I had polyps 2 for 2 so far, so I have to go back every few years. The hardest part is the 2-3 days of diet restrictions. That sucks a lot. But then you go in, get a nice needle in your hand, and wake up an hour later. The sedatives seem to be where really bad stuff can happen, but if you aren't allergic to anything, and follow the diet before hand, you should be in the clear.Do any of you guys have a negative opinion of colonoscopies due to risk of the procedure, and do the stool tests instead?
I'm a few years away from 40 with no family history of colon cancer, but I'm skeptical since I've followed a western diet most of my life. So many garbage chemicals in our food.
Medical consensus seems to be that colonoscopy is an absolute must, but I'm looking for dissenting opinions.
Breathing meditation. Simple. Free. Usable almost anywhere and by anyone. Just find someplace quiet and comfortable. Sit in an upright but relaxed position. Can be in a chair If that's best for you. Hands at rest on your knees/legs in a way that won't cause pressure. Then just close your eyes and focus on breathing. Just hyperfocus in on every aspect of your breathing. The physical sensation of the air coming in and leaving your body. The stretching of muscles in your chest/belly/back. Your heartbeat. Shut down every thought or sensation outside of breathing. Not really a direct follow up to my heart beat issues but
any advice for calming anxiety? The only health issues I’m feeling now is anxiety worrying about my physical symptoms coming back.
I’ve heard peppermint tea is a good way to relax, can anyone confirm and add advice if possible?
I thought the consensus was to start at 45 for average risk (no family history). Is it 40 now? Fuck.Do any of you guys have a negative opinion of colonoscopies due to risk of the procedure, and do the stool tests instead?
