I'm in. But...
Where the hell is Sam Elliott? I'm pretty sure it's illegal to make a Western without him.

costners plan is to make 4 of these movies ala avatar and after pretty much every studio passed on doing it he basically financed it himself, mortgaging his california house/ranch to finance it and taking $0 as payment for acting/directing/producing it (obviously he'll keep a lot if it is profitable like Lucas or Mel Gibson or M Night Shamalyam)

part 1 releases in june this year and part 2 immediately follows soon after at the end of august. I wish him luck but I really wonder about this bizarre release strategy

Well he did the same thing with Waterworld and he's still kicking after he seemed to lose his shirt on that one.

The preview doesn't look half bad.

I just think he is a liberal scumbag and should have kept his mouth quiet during all this Trump stuff and alienated me and others.

but although he has told conservatives to suck it, I make stuff to pander to you but believe the opposite - us conservatives are horrible with self denial and will fund all this still. Sad

as for the actual movie, looks good and yay westerns!

Sheridon did Yellowstone, right? Does Costner think he can pull it off without him?

keep in mind this is part one, part 2 releases in August. Costner would like to make 2 more movies (at least) in the series if these 2 do well.

Yeah I saw the release date for both of the films in the trailer, I'm assuming the trailer was probably cuts from both films.

I wonder if he originally was going to try to load it onto a premium service to do a long single season show high production values, but maybe nobody wanted to help out with it?

I'll watch, at least pt 1, and I really hope this is a great movie. I hope it was worth destroying a marriage and a great (ok really good) TV series over. Still butthurt the last season didn't get finished.

Saw this today. Was kinda dreading it seeing as how it was 3 hours long, but I really enjoyed it and the time went by quickly.

Beautiful scenery and a good story that is really several plot lines that are all interesting with interesting characters.

The Cowboy and Indian stuff was pretty even handed, I thought. There are fine people on both sides.

Looking forward to the second installment.
