I remember this show becoming absolutely fucking retarded and basically turned into a daytime soap opera only more woke.

There's also the problem that is got lazy to the point of being absolutely formulaic in the later seasons. The core "procedural " aspect of the show was on rails... I've got a fully infographic on it somewhere at home, but i'm not at home at the moment.

With all this said, I did enjoy my first watch through of it through around season 4 or so.... Then stuck it out as I was, in poker terms, "pot committed". Also, where I worked at the time we had a guy who was essentially our "House" and people took the joke so far as to identify me as his Foreman....

The first few Seasons are the best. This show also had one of the best endings ever. So if you get tired of watching it, at least skip to the end and watch how it went out.

Had a weird craving for a medical drama recently, maybe right before this was bumped, and I tried to watch Beautiful Minds I think it was called, with Spock?

Every one of these stupid shows has the same premise with some Doctor and a "quirk" or retarded power, so whatever.

Lasted about 6 episodes until it turned out everyone was gay, shut it off mid episode. Now it makes me just want to go back and rewatch all of House. Especially for House Millie and Thirteen.

God damn i thought they were bringing this back or something seeing this pop up

Still my GOAT show, when they first did the S4 cast shuffle i hated it but rewatching this shit like 10 times now the show just shows how much better it get specially with the ending of S4 which is probably 2 of the best episodes of TV of all time

Is there a push for this on YouTube or something? My algorithm has pushed a ton of House on me lately, to the point that I was also considering a rewatch. The only thing holding me back is the number of seasons involved, because I'd get tired of it before I finished.

Thus, I started rewatching Life (it is on Prime right now) with Damien Lewis, which I'm really enjoying and only has 2 seasons. Particularly because I can't remember anything beyond the basics. And Sarah Shahi is a fucking smokeshow.

This happened to me! That's why I made this thread. Suddenly all this House shit started popping up on my feeds on multiple platforms. They got me... Started watching it again.

TL;DR
S1 was good
S2 was the peak season
S3 was good other than the "emo Foreman" arc towards the tail end
S4 is contentious, but I enjoyed it. Finale in particular was good.
S5 is where it seriously goes off the rails largely because of the Foreman/Thirteen romantic tumor. "Evil Amber" arc towards the end is marginally better
S6 is "return to roots" and is decent, although still not up to the S1-early S3 standard
S7 is "give the women their House/Cuddy romance arc and then dash it to pieces" (i.e., awful)
S8 is awful

Contrary to what Haus Haus said, I don't think the show being procedural was the main issue, as S1-S3 were largely more medicine focused with the character subplots being a background role. The issues with all the later seasons were (a) the romantic pablum and (b) that the show got progressively more cynical/always needed to introduce yet another diabolus ex machina to make House even more miserable than he already was to drag the plot along.
