It appears Stallone wasn't involved in the production of this movie which gives me pause, but I don't sense any faggotry from the trailer so yea I'm interested in watching this.

Also the closing line in the trailer from the Carl Weathers character made me laugh.

"I'm an actor god damnit...we always lie."

Cobra is a fascinating watch. Stallone gives his character as many different cool characteristics as he could think of. Cobra has a cool look, cool one-liners, a cool car, cool gun, etc. except the sum total of it all is something that lacks any authenticity. The violence is over the top but more in terms of just how many mooks Cobra dispatches than the gore but there's also big spikes of gore. It's hard to explain. There's a bunch of what amount to railing kills (desperado gets shot, bends over, falls over a railing, no blood, no gore) but also we totally impale a dude on a hook and drag his bitch ass in to a motherfucking furnace.

I can't say I like it but it's doing stuff.

They ended up cutting 45 minutes out to get down to an R rating and get more showings in. No idea if that would have fleshed it out any more or if it was just a coked out mash up of 80s action movie tropes
