In case all you folks who are obviously farther along on this than I am having noted yet...

When your mystery button is ready don't hit it until you have a chest appear. If you win the mystery button (10x for 1 minute) that 10x will apply to the chest too. So mystery button, then open chest.

Since you'd like Arena to not be simply a "rounding error" in the gains, I had an idea about a small incentive to putting points into the abilities that increase Arena DPS instead of just the income alone.

For each time Earl successfully kills all the monsters in an arena, why not provide a bonus prize based on a fixed % of current income?

I figure it could be either :

- a small % of your current income but it repeats any time you "win" an arena, even if you're just returning to one you had previously reached
- a big % of your current income, but you only earn it once, the first time you reach an arena, then you'll have to go beyond it to get another bonus.

Personally, I prefer the latter but I'm just throwing an idea. It would make wins more meaningful.

I think that would provide some motivation to work on one's DPS to beat some of the tankiest monsters instead of just riding the income grind.

I like the second one too, but isn't that similar to the beast unlock bonus that is already there?

The beast unlock bonus is a permanent % increased as a reward for reaching a certain level that unlocks a new monster, but those monsters are spread out across many arenas, sometimes you'll need to win another 50 or 100 more arenas before you see another new monster that unlocks another bonus.

My idea was to give Earl a prize for each new arena win, period. Going by my second proposition, I'm currently at Arena 3913 and if I reach 3914 for the first time, it gives me a "win bonus" prize just this once. Then if I reach 3915 I get another one, just this once. If I run out of time and fall back to a previous level, I won't earn those prizes again for reaching 3914 or 3915 again but I will once I hit 3916. It's not a % increase of income, just a cash prize based on a % of your current income so it remains a significant prize no matter how high up you are, and makes you feel good about advancing in arenas. The monster unlock bonuses are another reward once you beat X arenas and ultimately encounter a new monster model.

I need some good way to present it so it's obvious what happens... btw, you might lose some arena levels. I accidentally made it too easy some days ago, and I'm trying to undo that. And something else needs to be more expensive to make up for it.

I think you could simply add a "NEW ARENA DISCOVERED - REWARD : + $[X% of current income]" part to the post-battle text whenever an arena is reached for the first time. Maybe separate it a little from the DMG summary or make it bigger/bold, make it a different flashier color so it's more obvious and since it only happens once per arena level so it's not too spammy I think.

You just have to figure out what % of the income you're comfortable with for the "cash prize", I'm thinking it should be significant enough to encourage players to keep pushing forward with upgrades and DPS and not just let it run in the background for passive income.

Oh and since my previous post I've lost about 60 arena levels. XD

A quick mock-up I made, below. I made the cash prize about 50% of my income at that time, but it's just an idea. Might want to make it even more though, since that's only 0.5 seconds of the passive income, maybe it should be more like 10 seconds or even 30 seconds of passive income so it feels significant?

Also just a little suggestion, but since you're abbreviating "damage" in the summary, I think perhaps using "dmg" instead of "dam" might be more in line with the kind of crowd that would play this?

I'm joking of course, I haven't seen those models either, I'm still at the vampire wizard slug.

I think perhaps pwe went a little overboard on the corrections to fix some of the crazy ramping up and made those monsters like level 10000 or 15000 or something. The man can't keep up with your antics!
