Seriously, are these people retarded? We're going to see a recession in 2 and a half weeks. It'll be the 2nd negative quarter. These people need to go back to get an intro business course.

My only bit of advice today is this... If you are generally an emotional trader then I wouldn't look at your portfolio or the markets. I mean this in all seriousness. Just be an ostrich and put your head in the sand.

If the above doesn't apply to you, then look for value in blue chips for the long haul. Small bites whether it be a new position or adds to an existing position. I would seriously focus on balance sheets, debt loads, cash flows and if the stock pays a dividend then how much cash it takes to service the dividend.

Personally If I see a stock I have interest in have its PE drop below its EPS (META for example) I am adding. But I like those boomer metrics. YMMV.

META has multi-year support right at $170 +/- a buck or two. At a price of $170, the PE will be 12.87 and its EPS is $13.21

No, they're not retarded. They just know they can lie to our faces and suffer no repercussions when they're wrong. So they'll keep lying until it finally gets fixed and then they can say "See what we said last week? We fixed it!", and the masses with the memory span on a goldfish will rejoice

With our cowardly policy it's gonna take a lot longer than some weeks to fix this shit. I think even the goldfish will start to notice when it becomes years of financial pain. The terrible part is that most people here saw this coming. This absolutely could have been avoided if were willing to take the necessary medicine.

Was it companies that don't make money having 50+ billion dollar valuations? (WeWork, Uber, etc)
Was it people getting paid millions of dollars a year to have other people watch them play video games?
Was it girls on OnlyFans buying multiple houses and a gas station?

It took 9 years to get into this mess (Fed should have started raising rates back in 2013.)

It'll probably take 2-3 to get out at the least.

We'll see. The bottom of the economy already bled during COVID, the wheat was separated from the chaff and businesses that were borderline already died off. Midmarket companies never really felt the long boom in the ways that the top did. The reckoning is coming for the top of the economy, and for the shit that just makes no economic sense like crypto.

Kind of makes me think we're here on the GFC (2007-2009) chart, where we bled for a good 6 months and then it really went to shit. Except this time there's nothing to really pull us out of it.

I won't deny that we've engaged in some stupid policies for a lot longer than since 2013, but the root of the most looming cancer started when Putin wrote an edict to start inflation in the west in february. We simply reacted wrong, and that massively compounded on our already existing vulnerabilities.

Nah, this is all a timebomb lots of people have been calling for once QE started. And 2020-2021 with the money expansion just compounded it all.

We probably could've meandered along for another century had we kept the policies from the 1990's to 2000's. We went fucking retarded after the GFC though.

I'm not denying we were sitting on a time bomb, infact I agree completely. What I'm saying is that there was an obvious path to fight inflation, though it'd be economically very painful in the short term. Instead we have chosen long term economic pain, because the politicians in charge were too cowardly or stupid to do what was necessary.
