any theories on when we’ll get another tariff like dip? It seems like the market learned to not care as much after that judging by reaction to ME conflict escalation
Market averages 10% per year. We're at about 4% right now. It's very possible we just continue chugging upwards the rest of the year.

I think the markets have, for the most part, figured out how to trade around Trump and Tariffs. It will take some abnormally large event on that front (like China tell Trump to F off and moving on Taiwan) or a black swan level event outside it , like Iran pulls an underground nuclear test out of their metaphorical asses with everybody thinking their program was "obliterated".

The next immediate front political influencer IMHO will be who blinks between Trump and the Fed and will the Fed really keep rates high to force the US to refinance something like $20 Trillion in debt at a premium?

I won't bet my life on it....but I do find the inverse cramer thing funny. I would, for the FOH community, bet 5-10k on the exact opposite of cramer for forums lols.....

Conditions:
  • Most likely it will be a 3-6 month out options position as cramer is typically talking about portfolio type shit
  • If i go down more than 25% I will bail and be honest and post about it
  • If I am up over 25% I will set a stop loss and let the gods dictate
  • If it lingers to the point where I have less than a month left I will leave no matter what

Let's do it!

My investing for the next 2-3 months is super passive as I'm traveling for work and in the office every day. I need to be doing office things and not staring at my charts. Such is life. So a cramer type play is way more applicable.

Anyone think that since the stock market is forward looking, interest rate cuts are priced in? If not, what kind of move can we expect to see?

The fact is I don't think anybody on this board is in a position to have any truly "not priced in" intel or alpha on any stock. I work for a company where we have open and closed trading windows for our stock as block against potential insider trading around the earnings announcement windows, and I know there isn't a single thing I know about what our company is doing or has done which is relevant enough to have a material impact on future stock price.

This slow grind higher is so boring. Where my vol gon'??

Thinking about picking up some Target. Managed to get all the way through Pride month without shooting themselves in the foot again. Nice divvy and might have some catch up trade to Walmart. I know you all hate PEs but TGT's Forward PE of 13.5 vs WMT's 37x seems a little imbalanced, even acknowledging how superior WMT is in terms of grocercy/inventory management/ecomm etc.

Talk me out of it please.

Well, my 200 shares of UPST got called away @ $64, with $56 cost basis.. originally I had 400 shares @ $80 cost basis. Now I've repurchased and am down to 300 shares @ $90 cost basis.

Should've sold this stock when it hit $95 earlier this year, stupid of me to get greedy and hold all the way down to $30. I don't know if it will ever really hit $400 again, seems like every time it has great earnings there is an offering and the stock tanks, or something else spooks the market and it tanks.

Yeah, making thousands of dollars every day passively is so boring. So much more fun when you lose tens of thousands.

I know someone who shorted NVDA before the run up. I still wince on that one. He's stock expert, too. His stock picks for the year are down -10%+. LOL.

If you’re retired and fully invested I get what you mean, but for new money, I need some more dips.
