Past performance does not indicate future performance, so no I don't think thats what that says.
I think the real take away of this chart is... This bull market is behaving in line with other bull markets. As you mentioned the unknown variable is how long this bull will run, and I would like to subscribe to the newsletter of whoever can predict that and prove out why.
This is actually an incredibly good chart. Maps out the major point my grandfather drilled into my head as a teenager about how to deal with money, although my grandfather was post depression era and never learned much about investment vehicles. In his mind all savings was usually CDs. But he also had a job which provided a very nice pension, so his CD plan worked out well for him and my grandmother. I'm stealing this as about half the time when I'm mentoring younglings now a days it inevitably branches out to "how do I deal with the money we make in this field?", thanks!
