I'd probably be way better/worse now at that. Both better at leadership and less sympathetic to retards.

You have heen warnedMoving through the rounds at the quantum computing company, my friend working there says of the two candidates im the clear standout (her bosses words). Not sure how I'll do in the remaining interviews, but the timing with the promotion is making this difficult.
Yep. Just seeing what they offer really. Potentially using the offer as leverage here. You have heen warned
Thanks. To be honest I got handed a role due to layoffs and it just turned out I was really good at it. I'm a shit engineer but I can talk to people.
So apparently the job opening to get promoted was opened, though not visible to me. Hopefully it goes through quickly.
The other job I'm interviewing for I'm told Is roughly $225k + RSUs, so nothing to sneeze at.
Yes they're public. Only not listing the name because they're pretty small. Not many players in quantumHope its a public company else those RSUs ain't worth the paper they're on.
What is Scooters? That sounds familiar.Probably time to start updating the resume, company had to borrow money to cover payroll last week. Lost Scooters as an anchor client.
Coffee shop, less pretentious version of Starbucks. We did the design and fabrication for all their signage. What is Scooters? That sounds familiar.

No job is ever going to give you a good work life balance once you get towards the upper levels. You have to put your foot down and take charge of that. Even salaried people are legally owed OT if they are being regularly required to work more than 40hr a week. It's a lot simpler to prevent that by setting expectations up front. Whether that's "Any OT is taken out of next week's schedule" or whatever else works for you. Set it, and stand by it.If I don't get promoted this week I think I'm gonna tell them to find someone else to lead this bullshit. It's super visible in the company and really good for my resume, but I'm being run ragged. I actually deserve to be at the level above this promotion, but I need to get this or I'm done. They've completely burnt me out.
