Nothing prevents you from making Linux stuff on the Mac. Its actually even easier than on Windows. You probably need a Windows machine for Microsoft native stuff though. I work in backend infrastructure and having a Windows machine has been nothing but a drag doing that kind of work. I hate them anymore.

Man our product launch was missed and on a day to day slip. Certain CPU vendor essentially fucked up, but can't really say more than that - but this was a multi million dollar fuck up if we couldn't launch.

Spent the last two weeks working what is essentially 16-20 hours a day. Had to meet with execs a few times yesterday and basically spearheaded the effort to solve this.

I've never been complimented so much in my career from higher-ups. One guy told me I was a hero, another person started clapping when I gave updates.

I'm just a software engineer so I feel like at a company this big, meeting execs is super not common.

Give me a raise God damnit.

And no rsu raise promotion or one time cash? Then fuck those words. I literally got shit for a huge fucking project and the asshole i was working side by side with was bumped from director to VP.

Yeah they're cunts then if they don't.

I got a spot bonus of $10k a couple years ago just for doing a huge data migration project alone. As we moved from one ordering system to another. That whole effort cost at most $2M for the company. Of which I only did that small piece.

I was never able to be a bootlicker. I know this has been detrimental in my career but I just can't make myself suck up to anyone. I'd rather be homeless. Fuck em.

A lot more people succeed due to bootlicking than skill though. Just the way it is.

This last year so far I got a promotion and 45% salary increase. If more comes from this I'm not sure.

I told my wife that there's nothing more rewarding than being applauded by a higher up. Money can't buy that.

Got my first full-year W2 from this company and they paid me $2000 less than we agreed to at hire. Shady fucks. On me for not paying closer attention to what was removed from the direct deposit check to figure out the gross I guess. Another turd on the pile pushing me to get in somewhere else.

I am suspicious that one of the owners was given a bid by friend/sales contact, because he reached out to the Accountant to ask the name of our "support group" and to pull the bill (which is currently inflated by finishing up the phone service switchover project they are helping with).

Same shit when we changed companies that do our paychecks, owner randomly got an offer from an acquaintance and switched over on a monday, with payroll due tuesday afternoon.
