Rewatched John Wick 4 on a 4K Ultra Blu-Ray. Those are really growing on me now that I have a G5 TV. Suffice to say, the movie is still insanely good, and the one thing in the 2020s that made me think theaters aren't obsolete. Seeing it in IMAX was something else, wish I could again. The G5 is amazing and all but I don't have the sound system to do justice to the movie.
Gonna go ahead and say that JW4 is the best action movie I've ever seen. Actually, if I were to rank the top action movies of all time, I'm pretty sure all four JWs would dominate the list. Aliens, Predator, T2, and maybe Fast and Furious 5 and 7 are the only real competition (from what I've seen) for JW2 and 3, and I'm not sure JW1 and 4 have any competition besides each other. I hear the last several Mission Impossibles are up there too, I need to watch that series.
I wouldn't rank them, but the Equalizer movies (at least the first two, that I've seen) are also very good Wick-style movies that are worth seeing. Denzel is an older ex special forces guy who is basically a combination of Wick and Mr. Miyagi, wants to be left alone etc, but keeps getting pulled into situations where he has to help somebody. Beats up a lot of assholes and Russians. They're great movies even if the action is a lot more subdued.
