Dinosaurs? Kids love dinosaurs. That's a fucking universal truth. Kids dont give a shit about story or plot, just dinosaurs.

Also the boys who grew up watching Jurassic park as kids are now dads taking their kids, and ScarJo is easy on the eyes (still, but starting to fade)

Yep this was us exactly. Took the 9 year old to see it and he practically fell asleep if there weren't dinosaurs on the screen, then complained we didnt see enough of them after it was over.

And ScarJo wore a tactical vest for half the movie so you couldn't see her tits.

Movie sucked.

even-though it gain a bunch of headlines about having a better opening than jw:d, the extra holidays only added a couple million. while still estimates, looks like got a super kick in the hoo-ha this weekend.

Yeah, except the entire problem with most of these modern Jurassic movies is not enough dinosaurs. The third reboot film focused on a swarm of insects of all things. They put way too much time into characters and plot no one cares about.

The diminishing box office grosses of each successive film since the reboot is a clear indication that while it's still making money it's losing some of the appeal.

I remember I got a copy of Jurassic Park for Christmas one year from my Dad. Was excited to see the movie when it was eventually announced, and think we saw it on opening weekend. Entire theater was packed, but it was a great time.

Checked it out tonight while working and I mean, it isn't the worst? Felt like it was better than the last one or two. Definitely wasn't bashful about getting the actors / supporting actors eaten. My expectations were like SciFi channel low so maybe that explains the lack of total and utter disappointment. There was some heavy stupid (guy falling off cliff and through trees into a 4" deep pond) but also cool dinos. 6/10 IMDB seems at least half a point low. 6.5/10 is fair unless you just really really love seeing dinosaurs on screen.

It's always dumb when they include kids. You know nothing is ever going to happen to them. Meanwhile all the professional soldiers get eaten left and right. It's so fucking dumb but that's the trope for these movies.
